*** OFFICIAL 2013 CAKE LEAGUE DRAFT THREAD *** (2 Viewers)

Good stuff. In 6 years I've never finished worst than 5th, and I don't think X has ever finished better than 10th.

I actually like where he took Howard, but other than that his team is horrible.

Keep in mind I've only played in a few fantasy baseball leagues ever, and have actually never played in a roto league so, you know, grain of salt and all.

Have you ever looked at who remained on your roster from the draft? All you're doing is giving yourself a shot in the draft and either committing or relieving yourself of the need to scour the wire. You're excellent at in-season management. I hate it, but I realize that's probably more than 60% of fantasy baseball success. Most years, I think you do a nice job of drafting. This year is an exception.

I've briefly looked. I would imagine that most of my first 13 picks remained.I don't really have any regrets this draft. I admit that the Weeks pick was due to positional panic, but he's serviceable. I was really hoping Maybin would have lasted a round, so took Reynolds. Good power for 180+ picks into the draft. While his OBP isn't stellar, I don't think he deserves the stigma he has like he would in an AVG league.

Was going to rat you out on never playing roto. Pretty sure I've never finished that low in cake either..but I could secretly be having a Shukedraft™

I'm not certain about Reynolds' playing time in Cleveland. I think that along with his complete first half collapse last year portends of a dismal season for him.

That was my thought as well. I've been a sucker for Reynolds for many years, but I don't think he's one of my 23 keepers in uber.

I thought thought Stubbs was moving to right, Swish was going to play first, and Reynolds would be regular DH.

Yes, that's the plan. The problem is that you're not entrenched in a lineup as a DH. It's easy to swap in anyone that is hitting better than Mark Reynolds at that moment. They'll also need a place to stick Santana so that he's not destroying his knees every game. When you have a wind machine like Reynolds and he's slumping, there are a lot of permutations that fix that problem.

It's funny because someone with the same name had a song once that was about incongruous accessory choices!
