Interesting to note from this weekend:Zac Dysert of Miami (Ohio) became the first player in FBS history to throw for more than 500 yards and rush for more than 100 yards in a single game.Dysert and Geno Smith both had more than 600 yards of total offense (passing + rushing), which had been done only 13 times previously.Read somewhere that there are now 28 games in which a player had at least 575 yards of total offense, and four of them happened Saturday. Also, Saturday was the second-highest scoring day in FBS history in which a minimum number of games were played (can't remember the exact number ... maybe at least 10 games?).
Interesting....what's the high scoring attributed to?
Not sure. Does it seem more schools put their best athletes on offense?Just some ridiculous scores from this weekend, though ... 70-63 (WV-Baylor), 56-49 (Miami-Akron), 51-44 (Ga.-Tennessee), 51-41 (Purdue-Marshall), 52-40 (Fresno-SD State), 49-42 (Tulsa-UAB), 45-43 (Ball State-Kent State).By the way ... Baylor's Nick Florence was the third QB, at exactly 575 yards' total offense. Still trying to find the other one.
