**OFFICIAL 2025 Draft Thread - Green Bay Opens The Door For Guests** (69 Viewers)

I feel like Sanders bombed the interview process with the top ten teams or so just so they won't pick him.

Brilliant strategy. The only teams outside of the top 10 that need a QB are Pittsburgh and maybe the Los Angeles Ram. It's likely one of those top 10 teams will trade back up into the 1st to select him later in the draft which will reduce his rookie earnings. #3 pick total value of rookie contract is $39.8M, the value of pick 20 (where Pit is) is $16.3M.

1.01 Tennessee - QB Cam Ward, this seems to be inevitable at this point

1.02 Cleveland - CB Travis Hunter and what a shame to see such talent going to a vast wasteland

1.03 NY Giants - Edge Abdul Carter, the Giants with a potential new Edge rusher, always a staple of their great teams

1.04 New England - OT Will Campbell, they need to protect their young QB, this feels like a step in that direction

and I said that to set up this...

1.05 Jacksonville Jaguars are in position first to capitalize on Sanders as the 2nd QB off the board or maybe Dart from Mississippi, with the Raiders at 6, Jets and Saints after that, it's possible someone from say 21 like the Steelers wants to move up and get their guy at QB. This is where the Draft gets interesting from my POV

I feel like the Browns and Giants are a little snake bit at wanting to take a QB in the top of the first, I look for them to take QBs early 2nd or possibly trading back up into the Mid-Late 1st round if for no other reason to try and have a possible 5th year option at their disposal for the QB position

Jags are a team I see as trading down
Im working on my hot takes for the draft. Ive already shared I have Dallas taking SSanders. Here is my next hot take
  • Abdul Carter slides out of the top 10
I give this a 10% chance, but should it happen I wont be surprised. I see Carter as an off ball tweener who will struggle to get to the QB at the professional level. In addition, he wont excel at pass coverage due to speed issues.

Carter is an amazing athlete. He was dominant at the college level. I think its reasonable to be concerned his does not have enough size to play on the line or enough speed to drop in coverage.

What feed is everyone watching these days? I stopped watching ESPN years ago due to Berman annoying dropping hints on picks. I also like Charles Davis and KurtW contributes real value.

I default to NFL Network. Not sure if it's best, but it's comfortable.

Anyone have any good draft rituals?

Ill be more present here tonight as none of my typical crew was able to make the draft for the first time in ... maybe 10 years?

Our ritual for a long long time now is to start a power-hour with corona when the commish announces the start of the draft. Im no spring chicken anymore and the power hour is a lot harder than it was 10 something years ago.

Also reppin my new Cooper DeJean jersey

Crank up that smoker. BBQ should rule the evening with Wings with a few different rubs and of course buffalo sauce for the plain!

Son and nephew are there. Found parking on the street for free. Which is normal on gameday. A lot of houses around there charge to let you park on their front lawns and driveway. And that normally includes the use of the bathroom in the house.

Green Bay is a different beast. It’s awesome.

No real rituals. In honor of it being in GB, thawed some brats brought back from a Wisconsin trip and had a couple spotted cows before settling in for some bourbon in a bit.

Really? I'd need an armed escort to let people use restrooms in my home.

HUh if real - respect. We just could not allow that to happen here.

Sidenote: Wife watches a lot of Murder Porn on ID channel and pretty much any other network that shows that uh... stuff  . Yes I sleep with one eye open..lol.

Brandy is the booze that is far more popular in Wisconsin than anywhere else.

Yeah..never developed a taste for it. Dad drank Brandy Old Fashioneds…Grandfather was a bourbon Manhatten drinker. It was his Jim Beam that got me started on the night of my hs graduation.

Yeah. Some will cook food and invite you to eat too (especially once you get to know them). Many do let you use the bathrooms. Many of those houses were charging a lot more for tonight than typical gale days though.

Last time (read only time) I was in GB was to work the Atl @GB game with 3 other friends. Not going to lie, we weren't all that impressed with GB. We went north to Sturgeon Bay and had a blast at a local bar which showcased numerous trophies regarding female pig wrestling. Got to meet the owners daughter (only with a handshake). She did not look like a pig wrestler.

Which RB has the best chance of "surviving" the weekend?

J Ford
C Brown*
T Bigsby/ETN
J Jacobs*
D Swift
A Jones
A Kamara
T Tracy*
J Warren
B Robinson
R Stevenson
K Williams*
N Harris
I Pacheco
J Mixon
C Hubbard*

J Conner

DEN, DAL, and TEN look like wide open starter spots to me.

*are going as ~premium picks right now

Yes this RB class is super deep but do we really think all these names are going to be drafted over? There's no way. Many of them are going to be more or less replaced, even if it takes a year, and some will be replaced almost immediately. But... there are some criminally undervalued names up there right now if they don't get drafted over.

The churning will be epic though. Pretty wild FF landscape this year - WR isn't any prettier than RB. QB and TE have steep cliffs. This weekend is supposed to bring clarity ha.
Brown, Jacobs and Bijan Robinson.

That’s my call as well. I think RS has a good chance too.

ETA: add Chuba to that list. His competition is already in house recovering from a knee injury.

Relatively sure the Panthers don’t invest heavily in RB.

Good seeing Matthews, Jordy, Mason and Jones…and man, Ahman Green such a great all around back. Definitely the type that would work well in Today’s game. And Jordy still one of my all time favorite Packers.

Way to stick the landing too Clay!
