Watching the draft last night, it seemed like they were trying to make it like the NFL draft coverage, which it will never be. Trust me, I would much rather watch the MLB all-star game than the pro bowl, but it seems to me that MLB is overdoing it a bit
I watched the day 2 of the draft and I thought it was great. It didn't have the wasted time of the NFL draft and just cruised a long. They showed a few highlights and touched on a the guy for a half minute and then on to the next pick.

I didn't watch the first round but my guess is they tried to make it more like the NFL draft (which is terrible) and it probably made this terrible too. Faster is better. They don't need to go into 20 minutes with each pick. Maybe the 1st round has a few minutes on each player but keep it moving.

Singer last night said she was drunk, and checking herself into rehab.

good for her to realize that she needs rehab
Voice rehab.
You think that tweet is sincere?

Plenty of truly incredible musicians have been drunk and high out of their minds yet were able to perform. The "I was drunk" excuse doesn't hold much water.

“You see, I think drugs have done some good things for us. I really do. And if you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor. Go home tonight. Take all your albums, all your tapes and all your CDs and burn them. 'Cause you know what, the musicians that made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years were rrreal ******* high on drugs. The Beatles were so ******* high they let Ringo sing a few tunes.” -Bill Hicks

I think it was 100% sincere — apart from the part about rehab being fun (that was just sarcasm).

With all due respect to Ringo, she probably could have pulled off Yellow Submarine while drunk. National Anthem requires some different octaves.

Really started liking Bohm last season during the playoffs, yesterday didn't hurt. I'm a fan
My son is buddies with him so i’m a fan, Bohm isn’t much for fan interaction though and hates being known by fans. Hopefully he can adjust and not be a **** in public and learn to embrace it.

i have no idea how these guys act outside of the games. I don’t follow any individual sports athlete on socials, so I’m clueless.

Just like the way he plays.

I just flipped on the Dodgers/Boston game. The Dodgers are at home and they are wearing alternative uniforms.

WHY WOULD THE DODGERS EVER WEAR ALTERNATE HOME UNIFORMS??

I don't know, but I just had an amazing idea.
Hold for it ...
They could sell the alternate jerseys as well as the regular ones!

I know. I'm sure they make a bunch of money on it. I just hate it. The Dodgers homes are iconic. And awesome.

For those of you who say "Nobody skips watching a sports broadcast because of the announcers", I dare you to sit through a game with the Giants' announcers.

What? They have arguably the best broadcasters in the sport.
get out.

Two ancient guys babbling on aboot nothing most of the time?

Krukow was talking once about how the Houston Astro's flag inside the stadium doesn't move because there's no wind. Genius

I'd happily slaughter a baby seal in SF if i could every time he says "squuuaaaat" when announcing the catchers.

I always find the opposing team's feed to watch games

Get new guys imo

Terrible take, those guys (plus Jon Miller) are national (well, regional) treasures.

Your face is a terrible take

I love when they'd bring in Miller for a few innings, radio guys are always better than TV guys.

Kruk and Kuip need to go imo

I'm admittedly in a Giants fan bubble but I think this is the first time I've ever seen a negative comment about our announcing team.

I tuned into one one time and thought I'd mistakenly picked up a single A game. They can take a couple of Dodgers announcers since they seem to have about a dozen.

Sorry, but I gotta agree.

I've listened to them maybe a half a dozen times this year, and they are the blindest homers I've ever heard. Actively rooting for the Giants in the booth with enthusiasm and acting like someone stole their dog if someone grounds into a double play or fails in the clutch.

They are a rough listen at times.

Yea, I am a bit shocked by this as well. They have definitely lost a few steps over the past couple years and come across as notably older, but I still think they do a good job.

Miller is the best in the business IMHO, so I often just listen on the radio.

Robbie Ray returned last night and outside of a shaky 30+ pitch first inning he was perfect through the remaining 4 innings, striking out 8. With Ray, Webb and Snell coming into late season form this has potential to be an absolutely nasty starting rotation.

I'm not going to continue to litigate it, but if there's a valid criticism, it's that they are old and loopy like Gator mentioned. They have an extremely dry style and they are rarely enthusiastic about anything to the point where you could rank them among the biggest homers in announcing. I'm not sure we're talking about the same people here.

They are definitely homers, but I also find them very enthusiastic about the individual players on opposing teams which breaks up the homerism a bit for me and I appreciate it.

Cease threw a no hitter.
He didn’t throw more than 100 pitches did he????? 😮
Apparently they were thinking about pulling him because he was indeed over 100.

Most of these pitchers that get pulled during a no hitter are young pitchers that haven't pitched that much or they were at 100 pitches with 2 or 3 innings left. No one in their right mind is leaving someone out there for 130 or more pitches just for a no hitter, especially not a young pitcher.

Having an "arbitrary" number like say 100 as a hard stop makes no sense. He had previously thrown over 100.

Why is the magic # 100?
Why not 120? Or 87? Or 92?

I am sure there is research.
