I tried buying tickets for the game at Comerica and seems they are all sold out . Of course plenty on stub hub, seat geek etc . Lowest price is 300 level nose bleed seats for $140

Texas last year and Detroit this year (so far) are a prime example of the biggest thing in the playoffs. Record doesn't matter, payroll doesn't matter. If you get hot at the right time, you can make a run.

Yep. Saw this earlier:

On Aug. 11, the Detroit Tigers were 55-63 and 10 games out of a playoff spot, with a 0.2% chance to make the postseason.
They are 33-13 since and just swept the Astros to make the ALDS.

Just got to Minute Maid Park. Got tickets in the lower level just beyond 3B for $65. Astros fans are too complacent.

Go Tigers! #blessyouboys
That's wild. When SF was in the playoffs a few years ago it was at least double that for a standing room only ticket.

Normally those tickets are a $100+ for a playoff game but the 1pm mid week starting time and losing the first game probably limited the enthusiasm. Houston fans can be very fair weathered.

That happens after a couple Series wins and a bunch of playoff runs. Not special anymore.

Detroit games in August you could get tickets anywhere in the park for 20 bucks or much less. Some were 10-12 bucks for first and third base lines. Even after they started winning prices on Stubhub were pennies on the dollar as nobody thought it was real.

Of course now you will see Jeff Daniels, Eminem, and all the celebs who have not been there in 10 years will be there all geared up.

If you’ve never been to a playoff baseball game: go.

Spend the money. There is nothing like it.
Playoff hockey is better but playoff baseball is electric and much different than regular season baseball. It is definitely worth it.

I've been to plenty of playoff games including 2 world series games, just don't have the extra $200+ it would cost to go to this one.

It's my fault. I turned the game on in the bottom of the 8th.

Philly might not want that smoke from the Mets....they're like Good Will Hunting in that Card Game movie....... "hanging around...hanging around...they got alliegator blood..can't git reid of the tem."

The good part of this Royals resurgence is they are doing it with a new GM. He was on the staff as the previous one but has completely revamped how they do things and how they look at things. They have invested a lot of money behind the scenes in scouting and technology and such. Should be an interesting 5-6 year span here. And ownership (who is new) has also committed tons of dollars to the payroll as well.

Locking up Bobby for 11 years was an excellent investment.
As a White Sox fan, I'm crying. 😥

Our Owner and GM thought it was a great idea to take the worst that KC had to offer over the years and try to make soup out of it.

They failed. Again.

Do what they do in Wisconsin, cook it longer and bury it with cheese, that soup will look presentable eventually. Trying my hand at a little humor after that gut punch last night.

If I wasn't so hardened to disappointment after decades as a Wisconsin sports fan, last night would've been absolutely crushing.

i’ve been a met fan since the horrific early 70s. to have that game 1 win monday and yesterday’s win occur in 1 week is something i won’t soon forget.

phil’s have the edge here, especially with how the rotation is setting up. wheeler for 1 and 5 i suppose. i am hopeful suarez and nola have shown enough cracks down the stretch to make those games toss ups. i will assume megill starts game 1 for the mets, unless they go to peterson. mets catch a break with 2 off days, so severino can start 2 and 5 on normal rest of my maff is correct. manaea 3 and quintana 4. was reading senza might have 40 pitches available. i assume that would be for 2 games only. if the mets can steal game 1 against wheeler, i’d feel real good. if not, they have to win 2 and 3 cause quintana spooks me, even though he’ll be at home.

Suarez is the #4 now as he hasn't been right since coming back from injury. Phils may go Wheeler, Sanchez, Nola, Suarez (on a short leash, maybe once around the order).

EDIT: As I thought, they went Sanchez game 2 (has better home splits).

Game 1: Wheeler vs. Kodai Senga
Game 2: Sanchez vs. Severino
Game 3: Nola vs. Manaea
