As a Jays fan it's very concerning. Actually every starter not named Gausman is a concern. Manoah had zero control of his breaking pitches in his last start. They weren't even close. That doesn't leave him with much. Also, his velocity is down. He's thrown a lot of pitches since the start of last season. Hoping it's just early season rust but I, for one, am very worried that he's hit a bit of a wall.

The only chance the Oregon area gets a team is through expansion, which, looking at the current landscape of MLB, would be a really bad idea. I can't imagine how bad Oakland, Detroit or KC would look with another 2 MLB rosters fighting for scraps.

And downtown has been off the table for years - the city is a mess but the local government is untenable. Businesses are leaving in droves. The new rumors involve the area occupied by Tektronix, which has a ton of land in Beaverton and happens to be right off the MAX line. Would be an ideal spot for a team, but I doubt that ever eventuates in any of our lifetimes.

If you are a business person in Tampa and want to go to weekday game you have to leave work, go home to get the kids (45 minute drive most likely), then head to the trop during rush hour traffic (80 minutes) to get to the game, watch it and then head home going over the bridge again after 10. It’s not doable many times a year.

The stadium is in the wrong location and everybody knows it but St. Pete has the money.

This doesnt happen in other cities?

Are you familiar with population within a 30 minute drive of the stadium. The Rays only have 670,000 that are in a 30 minute radius of the stadium. Someone brought up the Angels. They have 2.4 million. About 4 times more . This makes a difference on a weeknight.

So is traffic the issue or location?

Im just saying every stadium has HORRIBLE traffic issues. Thats a poor excuse.

If the fans cared, they'd go. Give the team to a city that will embrace them.

I heard last week from someone who knows...downtown Portland is out for a location of a new team. But still could be the Beaverton Beavers. But won't be a typical big city downtown, urban stadium.

Tampa has not committed to building a new stadium yet. No final decisions have been made.

I"m actually a fan of Tropicana stadium. I mean it's not the greatest park to watch a baseball game compared to some of the others but it has one necessity that is required to watch baseball in South Florida in the summer time. Air conditioning.
