***Official 2025 Pro Cycling Thread*** - This year a Grand Prize!!! (8 Viewers)

We might show you the names of all the riders on a team at the starting line... or might not. And we definitely won't show you their names any time after that. Also, if a rider drops from their team, we'll pretend they're dead and never tell you how they did.

Dang, I'm always rooting for the breakaway guy. He got to about 2.5 km from the finish before they got him.

It's uncanny how often they are caught with between 1-3 km left. I'm like you, always rooting for the breakaway, but its just inevitable most of the time.

Question for the group: how the heck do you figure out who will do well in a TTT?
Well I thought I had it all figured out. But then the rules of this ttt were whack. It was basically an itt with domestiques. The whole team gets the 1st riders time and then the gc is calculated individually. :loco: I would have had Jonas on my team for sure if I’d known this was how it would be scored. Terrible day for Armstrong’s needle.

I think giving to team the time of the first rider is dumb. Give the average time of the top 3 or the third rider to cross. I’m fine with giving the individual times for the GC. But what do I know. Guess they way they do it makes sense to somebody.

I’m with you. It’s dumb. It’s a TEAM time trial.

And then each rider gets their own time for GC instead of the team time.

"Today we start [with] six. Alberto Bettiol felt ill recently and after yesterday’s stage had a fever," said the Italian rider's team on X. "It was decided to let him recover fully for the upcoming classics."

Should he recover in time, Bettiol will lead XDS Astana at the Classics, starting with Milan-San Remo on Saturday before heading to the cobbled races in Belgium as a former winner of the Tour of Flanders.

Of the 168 starters at the Race of the Two Seas, there are only 158 remaining mid-way through the third stage, with David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) abandoning after crashing and injuring his elbow yesterday, and Robbe Ghys (Alpecin-Deceuninck) not starting stage 3 due to "personal reasons related to his wife's pregnancy".

I can't figure out what's going on.
Cycling coverage blows
To be fair, there's riders over about 5 miles of road at this point, its sleeting, raining, and there are 2 car/moto crashes.
Seems like there’s no open line between race organizers and Peacock’s coverage team to find out wtf is going on.
I am watching an international feed, and they have the same concerns

Don’t they just get the euro feed nd have zero control? That’s the way it used to be. Phil and Paul used to listen in on the race announcers in French and piece together what was happening. Cvdv and Bob seemed to do the same thing at one point. The feed was in French for minute or so when they were trying to figure out what was going on.
