I feel the same way about Alex Smith all of a sudden. I would of felt better if Aaron was announced on Sunday and given a Q tag, less time to simmer on the fact that Smith is actually my starting QB for week 14. Ugh.Eli.
:X
Not if you have a competent backup like Culter who will start week 15Well, he is clearly not a fast healer, count is up to 5 weeks.
If Pack do not win this week, I think it is a given his season is over.
To all who traded for him in hopes he will be back, we have officially lost that gamble.
have a bye but would be playing McCownWhats everyone doing for their QB this week or who was the backup plan?
Or should that be another thread?
Case Keenum... whom I sat for Le'Veon Bell (super flex, Peyton's my other QB). Who'da thunk losing Sam Bradford could hurt so bad?Whats everyone doing for their QB this week or who was the backup plan?
Or should that be another thread?
My only backup was Manuel so I traded for Rivers just before the deadline.Whats everyone doing for their QB this week or who was the backup plan?
Or should that be another thread?
Mine is a 2qb league. I have Foles and Alex Smith going.Whats everyone doing for their QB this week or who was the backup plan?

So if average is 4-6 and he is at 5, that would put him at average and not a fast healer. So yes, thats a fact, he is not a fast healer. Not a fast healer, lol. No, he isnt Wolverine. 5 weeks isn't exactly some prolonged period of time.
50-50 next week, and that is assuming he would play even if they lose this week. 6 weeks would be right on the edge for a marginal fracture there. But since I didn't see his cray, can only go by the report it is a minor fracture.
I do know this though. He can practice 22 hours a day, but he won't play till the bone is cleared.
Im pretty sure a broken bone heals at the same rate for every human. So if average is 4-6 and he is at 5, that would put him at average and not a fast healer. So human beings are all the same and not different, they all heal at the same rate?Im pretty sure a broken bone heals at the same rate for every human. So if average is 4-6 and he is at 5, that would put him at average and not a fast healer. None the less, 5 weeks is average, so therefore it is not fast.

this isnt a sprained ankle
Accelerated bone healing therapy
Various studies (citations needed) have found that pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) have increased the rate of bone healing.
Low intensity pulsed ultrasound, applied twenty minutes per day, increases the rate of bone healing (citations needed).

Question: How long does it take for a fracture to heal, and when can I return to sports after such an injury?
Answer: Well, it really varies for how long a fracture is going to take to heal depending on how bad the original fracture was and sometimes which body part. Fractures that are in our weight-bearing bones, especially in the legs, sometimes require a little bit longer before you can get back to the normal activities that you would. Sometimes stress fractures take a little bit longer to heal. But as a general rule of thumb, we sort of pick four weeks as a general range for most fractures to heal, but that's just for the bone to heal itself back together. It can be a little bit longer after that before that you're actually able to do those physical activities or sports that you're used to doing.

Ideally, different bones will take from 3 to 24 weeks to recover. The time that is takes to heal a broken bone will highly depend on the bone and the age of an individual. Some bones heal faster than others due to supply of blood and children bones recover faster than adult bones.

I'd be confident they did use PEMF. That's basically called a bone stimulator (no one calls it pemf). It uses electrical waves to accelerate bone growth/healing. Often used as a treatment of nonunion fractures before surgery is considered as well as after surgery to heal bone in procedures such as a spinal fusion or bunionectomyFun fact: studies have shown that when you cut your skin even, there is an electrical charge that extends across the break in skin (one side negative, the other positive). It is one way our skin heals together and finds its way to the other end of the cut, magnetic fields. We utilize this to our advantage when treating some bad wounds or bone breaks to help accelerate healing.too bad rodgers didnt have children bones.maybe GB should of used PEMF on him?Bones heal the same way in everyone. Yeah, I think we will have our answer to this question once he is actually healed. However, I would not classify Rodgers as a slow, average, or fast healer by his length in recovering from this.
Even after this I wouldn't use it to generalize Rodgers as a fast or slow. I wouldn't use someone's recovery from a broken bone to make that opinion. A strained hamstring or a sprained ankle, sure, but not a bone. Bones have so many other factors - which is why I felt compelled to enter this thread in the first place. Some people were making false claims in relation to his heart and that he should play and "it's just a collar bone." They didn't realize that this isn't a sprained ankle, it isn't a separated shoulder or a torn labrum, something he could play with; it's something that needs to heal, period. I think, for the most part, people get it now. If he took 6 weeks to come back from a strained hamstring then yes he would be a slow healer.Yeah, I think we will have our answer to this question once he is actually healed. However, I would not classify Rodgers as a slow, average, or fast healer by his length in recovering from this.
If he were to be fully healed right now, I would consider him a very fast healer. What are we at right now, pretty much exactly 5 weeks? I could see the simplest of simple breaks being fully healed at that point. But as mentioned 1000 times, I didn't see his xray.
Sure thing! Can you PM the numbers for mega millions.Don't you play to get to the playoffs? They have a good chance if only the Lions stand in their way.it is based on my belief that Rodgers is done. Whatever the Lions do or don't do has no bearing on that. I'd be shocked if Rodgers risks his career over some short term playoff run.It is not a non sequitur. If the Lions lose it increases the odds that Rodgers comes back this season.this is a nonsequitur. somebody is going to back into the playoffs in the NFC North. Rodgers going IR is right there with death and taxes.I feel more strongly of DET ####ting the bed the last few games then Rodgers going on IR
And your last sentence is also not true. Rodgers to IR is probable but not certain at this point.
Lions are gonna lose in Philly this week, if Rodgers comes back and they win against Atlanta, how does it look then?![]()
You are slightly annoying.Yeah, CRAZY to think GBs best chance at a super bowl was to wait till Rodgers is actually cleared and go try and beat crappy Atlanta at home, then have him healthy for the stretch run.
What WAS i thinking??

Yes, a 100% healthy Rodgers in the groove would be amazing. But what about Rodgers who has missed over a month of football and could be one hit away from being done? (Yes, I know every player is one hit away)You have to go Rodgers vs DAL my god he will have a field day
the only way you dont start him is if you dont play fantasy footballSo assuming he plays next week- do you start him?
My options are rivers or luck.... I'm tempted to go with rivers over rodgers

Good one. Just over thinking. A lot of money on the line for me. I could use itPackers ain't rolling him out unless they are 100% sure he's ready.Yes, a 100% healthy Rodgers in the groove would be amazing. If this were the regular season I'd trot him out there without hesitation, but with it being the semi finals of the playoffs... Can't make any errors
You're trying way to hard. After seeing guys laying it out today it would be total sissyville if Rodgers doesn't play next week. What do you think Gronk and AP are thinking about Rodgers resting another week because a perfect hit on him could possibly rebrake his non-throwing collar bone? Seriously. If Erin doesn't play next week he should never ever ever step on the same field with Adrian Peterson. Ever.
I totally agree with this but when is Rodgers not ready? I know he missed time but he has been practicing in pads and throwing darts from what I read. Rodgers is that rare type of QB that will always be ready to go and perform at a high lvl.Packers ain't rolling him out unless they are 100% sure he's ready.Yes, a 100% healthy Rodgers in the groove would be amazing. Ready as in healthy. When he does hit the field I expect him to return as if he never missed any time.I totally agree with this but when is Rodgers not ready?
