What if you've been surviving with Foles? That's a dilemma.
You mean Rob Gronkowski, the guy who sat three weeks after he was cleared by team docs?General Tso said:What do you think Gronk and AP are thinking about Rodgers resting another week because a perfect hit on him could possibly rebrake his non-throwing collar bone? Seriously.
Oh No RF you may be jinxedAlready set my week 15 lineup and Rodgers is my starter.
:confidence:
No chance! That's quite a race there in the NFC North.
DET 7-6
CHI 7-6/6-7
GB 6-6-1
DET finishes BAL, NYG, MIN.
CHI finishes CLE, PHI, GB.
GB finishes DAL, PIT, CHI.
We all keep thinking of most FF playoffs ending in week 16, but for the Packers their playoff run continues into week 17. However, I don't think GB can beat Dallas with Flynn.
Agree. With Rodgers it is conceivable for GB to win out. Without him, I don't think they get another win. But I also thought they would lose to AtlantaNo chance! That's quite a race there in the NFC North.

Exactly my tough choice if he plays. What if you've been surviving with Foles? That's a dilemma.
how is the medical staff a reflection of Rodgers? The medical staff is being super cautious - they haven't even cleared Cobb to run yet and he had a 8 week time frame.
My guess is the medical staff will put a kink in our plans.
Possibly. I think it has more to do with that he's a QB and has a target on his back.Wasn't this originally a 4-6 week time-frame? Next Sunday is one day shy of 6 weeks... They're in a tightly contested playoff race. Everything I have read (outside of this thread) says this simply a process of being medically cleared which should be when the bone heals - If it takes 4-6 weeks, we are at the end of that time-frame, & Green Bay is still very much alive, why wouldn't he play? I've got Rivers as well. I was just looking over my line-ups and noticed that SD plays Thursday night, while GB is Sunday afternoon. Also, according to my site's scoring, while Dal is the worst for giving up QB points, Den is only two spots better. I think I've got to play it safe and go with Rivers...the only way you dont start him is if you dont play fantasy footballSo assuming he plays next week- do you start him?
My options are rivers or luck.... I'm tempted to go with rivers over rodgersGood one. Just over thinking. A lot of money on the line for me. I could use it
Crap good call on the Rivers/Rodgers combo. I have Rivers, so unless I know for sure Rodgers is going to start this week, I guess I have to go Rivers. Sucks because I'm out of FAAB money so I can't even go pick up someone else.
I didn't even think about the Thursday night game vs Sunday, in that case I have to play Rivers unless Rodgers is coming back for sure. I can't play Luck over Rivers. I've got an interesting matchup. I should win, but my opponent has taken well advantage of glitches in our scoring system. He starts 2 kick returners because kick return yards are insanely valuable. He may very well beat me when I have hands down the better team. Frustrating. Emailed the commish to correct this for next season, never heard backI've got Rivers as well. I didn't read anything about when his next scan would be, or if he's had it. That'll be the most tellingPer McCarthy, still not cleared - will practice tomorrow and be evaluated on Wednesday.

Thanks. If he's going to be evaluated Wednesday I would imagine that's the day then. At least we will all have our answers so those of us potentially with or without a player like Rivers who plays on Thursday will be able to make an educated decision regarding what to do, given many of those individuals may or may not have a suitable replacement aside from a Thursday night QB like Rivers over Rodgers.Have to be careful with wordage, police are roaming aroundI listened to the presser and it wasnt revealed thenI didn't read anything about when his next scan would be, or if he's had it. The Packers are planning on Matt Flynn starting in Week 15, but have left the door open for Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) to return.
"That's the way you have to go about it," coach Mike McCarthy said. "Aaron has hurdles to get over." Rodgers will be re-evaluated on Wednesday. With a division title still within Green Bay's grasp, they're going to give Rodgers every shot at returning, but have made it clear he won't be prematurely cleared. Even against the Cowboys' lowly secondary, Flynn wouldn't be more than a bottom-barrel QB2.

Bummer, but at the same time that's been "business as usual" in GB the last 3 weeks now (look at me, joining the "hold out hope" crowd).Rotoworld take:

Ok, I'm not a Doctor but this is beyond ridiculous. Are they really able to see on an x-ray or MRI a discernable difference in healing between weeks 5 and 6 of a small non displaced fracture? This whole thing sounds like a smokescreen to me. My gut tells me Rodgers probably wants to play, but Green Bay management has no confidence the team is good enough to make a deep playoff run, so they are using the medical situation to take an ultra-conservative approach and tank their season to get a better daft pick.

I don't disagree with being conservative, and return after week 6 (which is this week) for a 4-6 week injury would be the most conservative approach. To string it out any further is not being conservative. It's starting to look like tanking. I lost all respect for Indy during their "suck for Luck" campaign. I'm about ready to add Green Bay to that list.Packers have always been very very conservative when it comes to injuries. I would think they are going to be even more ovrly conservative when it comes to their franchise QB.
Really?? I don't buy that for one minute. I was diagnosed with a completely torn ACL a few years ago after an MRI and the Doctor said he was "absolutely sure" it was completely torn. Went in for surgery a couple weeks later and the ACL was still intact. And on the flip side a couple years ago Jacoby Ellsbury injured his ribs. The ct scan initially showed bruised ribs, out a few weeks, and later the test was redone and it was determined that he had 3 or 4 fractures and he was out the whole year. In short, it sounds like there is a lot of subjective interpretation in these tests, no?Yes, you can see a discernible difference on a ct scan. Good God. You are either an incredibly poor fisherman or really ignorant. Not sure which (or maybe both). Hey, it's a 4-6 week injury. Come day 42, Rodgers is out there, regardless of what the scans tell us. Let's let an arbitrary time frame determine when Rodgers plays. Science? Medical advice? To heck with that.I don't disagree with being conservative, and return after week 6 (which is this week) for a 4-6 week injury would be the most conservative approach. ACL = anterior cruciate ligament. Ligament is not boneMRI is great for soft tissue, like tendon, muscle, ligaments. Absolutely garbage for bone aside from saying, yeah there are some fractures there. Research shows MRI are 25% accurate but doctors won't tell you that when you see them. But they are 100% safe and ~50% cheaper than a ct scan (3k vs 6k in SE WI). So, it's the best we have unless we subject you to a massive amount of radiation in a CT scanReally?? I don't buy that for one minute. You want to look specifically at bone, x-ray. Ct scan looks at everything, but is great for small fractures/stress fractures.
Ct scans use radiation to basically meat slice you. If the slice dies not fall at the spot where your problem is, they miss it. MRIs are exactly the same, but they use magnetic fields to slice you, and slices are wider.
Neither are fool proof. MRIs are worse. I couldn't tell you the % Acuracy of a CT scan off the top of my head
On a side note, I'm not surprised your MRI was false positive. Surprised the md was "absolutely sure" that it was torn... Usually it's partially torn and it's fine once they go in. I had a false negative on a knee injury. Everything looked fine. The MRI missed an area of cartilage about the size of a dime that was completely gone. A pot hole where the knee cap tracks. Only diagnosed it with a knee scope. Had some cartilage grown and grafted and I'm good to goThanks Doc. Appreciate the info.ACL = anterior cruciate ligament.
