No real surprises - the market is reacting negatively.
This is the "about time" drop or the "Is that it" effect. Though, I will say, I am seeing a lot more "finally" type of comments in this thread from folks I never thought I would.ICON...do you think Apple will forego it's standard and actually let this stuff in the background? Speaking of these new maps features. A couple things I see coming from these releases:

1. People are going to complain about battery life now, not understanding that's the price you pay for GPS features like these.

2. If maps really does run in the background, Apple will be accused of "collecting information without my knowledge" etc

People are so stupid sometimes, but it's funny as hell
Apple already allows GPS functionality to run in the background.
Apps or just the polling part? My wife's only does the polling part and the app has to refresh every time she starts it.

Apple stock ALWAYS drops right after a conference like this. Always. There is a runup leading up to the event then profit taking immediately after. Like clockwork.
Do you make tons of easy cash playing this pattern?icon's right about Apple always losing $ on WWDC days
I did this about three "releases" in a row, but I only have a couple hundred shares so knowing that some didn't expect much here, I didn't expect a big dip and passed this go around.

Just ordered my MBP 15-inch w/ Retina512g HD16g RAM2.6GHzapple caresuperdrive should be here in 3-5 days......brooong!!!!
Part of me would love to upgrade my old MBP, but I'm not sure I can justify the expense. I definitely could use a new computer, but I think I'll have to go with a new iMac and use my iPad as my mobile device.

 Thought that was on the low end compare to other football guys with all the bragging that goes on around here.

So Major is in the market to upgrade his 13" MBP. Leaning toward the new 13" $1500 Air but also admiring the $2200 Retinal MBP. Not sure I can justify $700 for pretty pictures. Yes, I know the MBP is better and now thinner laptop but $700 better?

you 99 percenters can play along in the option market if you understand the options market....You can profit on these events for much less. I hold AAPL long but also add on through short term option plays (6-1 year type plays). Buy Oct and Nov calls. Thank me later once new phone and tv drop.

Much less than what?

Anyone ever done anything like this to get the iOS a few months early? Any risks?
Don't waste your money. Apple shut down dev accounts selling UD ID spots during the iOS 5 beta and will surely do the same for 6. The beta's also tend to be really buggy, especially this early. I have the iOS 6 beta right now on some dev phones but am not going to bother putting it on my main phone until it's more stable.

buying the common in full

So, what are the expectations? What do you want to see on Monday from these guys?

What I am really wanting to see but there hasn't been any rumor about it is a bigger iPad. The Surface Pro 3 looks awesome, to me, so I am hoping Apple had something planned up their sleeve that has been kept quiet.

A new iPhone with specifications as well as an expected price. Something concrete here.

Any other thing I am kind of meh about.
