***Official Buffalo Bills 2007 Offseason Thread*** (1 Viewer)

Duke Preston was terrible in the preseason. Peters/Dockery/Fowler should make a strong core for this line once they all get on the same page. I don't have high expectations for the right side, but the other 3 guys should be fine if they can stay healthy.

I actually like Butler and like what I've heard on him this offseason. He apparently worked hard on adding some upper body strength. The biggest negative was how much time he missed during training camp. But I think that he could be a solid RG. As for Walker, IMO he's absolutely terrible. I'm still in shock that Pennington got cut. He should be STARTING over Walker, not standing in the unemployment line.

Brad Butler will start at RG, making the O Line look like this:

LT-LG-C-RG-RT

Jason Peters-Derrick Dockery-Melvin Fowler-Brad Butler-Langston Walker
Thanks, I wanted to put names to the worst Offensive Line in the NFL. Pretty expensive for a 1.7 YPC. :lmao:
Reed was quoted saying Peters was the laziest person he knew (or something to that affect). Losman said that on one play Peters knocked a guy down but didn't make sure he stayed down, the guy got up and broke up the passing play. It seems that Peters does not go full out in the preseason. I think we haven't yet seen what that left side of the line is capable of doing.

but the Bills did keep 10 DBs :lmao: Buffalo can not evaluate OL talent.

Sorry to hear that about Walker. I hope it was just unfamiliarity with the new system. Pennington's release was a big surprise to me too. I suspect there was a behind the scenes issue at play there. Perhaps an attitude or substance problem. Doesn't make any sense to cut a backup with experience and is a known adequate-level starter. Especially when he has a cheap contract.
