I'm pretty sure Vanilla Ice killed the white rapper genre. At the very least, he's the reason they get little respect.

At least we got DC Talk before that.

True. Also, whatever happened to House of Pain? I mean, besides 1991.

Everlast has a fairly successful solo career. I think they've reunited for some festivals lately as well.

La Coka Nostra is a group comprised of Lethal, Danny Boy and Everlast, along with Slaine and 1 or 2 others, I think. They've had an album or 2. JMT did some shows with them recently.

Esoteric certainly has his moments.

Absolutely couldn't stand him when I first heard him. He raps like a robot. His cameo on the Nineteen Ninety Now LP was pretty nice though. Maybe he's gotten better with age. 7L is a fantastic producer though.

I get what you are saying. His solo stuff can be droning as there is not enough variation. But in guest spots with the right beat, I think he is very nice, like the one you mentioned and his stuff on Violent By Design.

I used to be way into the whole anticon crew, but after a while it got kind of tiresome.

I am kind of with you on this. He's not great and I kept seeing people talk about his last album like it was a classic. I got bored really quickly. I liked him better on the last La Coka Nostra album but didn't love that project.
