Do you plan on voting for him then seeing what he does, or are you taking him at his word?
I'm not voting for Clinton. What lead me to Trump was his no-nonsense attitude on illegal immigration among other issues.

I need to know where his line in the sand is, who is he working with? People who've been here 5 years? 10 years? 10 days?

I'm not having it. I'll jump off this ship if he's just going to change his policy completely 3 months before Election Day.

"Hillary Clinton is a bigot, who sees people of color only as votes, not as human-beings worthy of a better future,” Trump said.
Yeah, just because the Donald says something doesn't mean it's anywhere close to true.  A feeling is not a fact, but the RNC and Trump have never figured this out throughout the entire campaign.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Poor Eminence. If only someone could have pointed out that Trump has no actual policies and just spews BS based on whatever he thinks will benefit him.

The Democratic system is a failure for African Americans.
Black poverty rate by year

Notice that the poverty rate consistently goes up when a Republican is president, and consistently goes down then a Democrat is president. The correlation is uncanny.

Blacks had their highest poverty rate under Eisenhower. The second highest poverty rate happened under Reagan.

Meanwhile, the lowest poverty rate took place under Clinton.

Well, Trump sees the numbers and realizes that he's going to lose in historic fashion. So, of course, he does an about face on everything that won him the nomination.  And his supporters are too blind to see it. Classic!

Who are you kidding? You wouldn't jump ship if Trump were the captain of the Titanic.

Em:

Wait, you actually thought there was really going to be a wall?
Why would I support somebody who says they're going to build a wall if I thought he was lying about it the whole time?

Of course he's going to build a wall. We need that wall.

That's only because the economy sucks under Republicans!  Democrats hate blacks.

And in the process will actually create about 20 million new citizens who will never vote for a republican ever in their lives.

In years to come, people will highlight the convention and the khans and the 2nd amendment people, but this last 24 hours really slammed shut the coffin on his chances.

Ann Coulter and Eminence are a representative sample of his base.

I picture Ann Coulter and Eminence sitting at the end of the bar sharing stories about the good old days when donald was building walls and deportation forces were cruising the streets.

The Justice Department sued his company ― twice ― for not renting to black people

When Trump was serving as the president of his family’s real estate company, the Trump Management Corporation, in 1973, the Justice Department sued the company for alleged racial discrimination against black people looking to rent apartments in Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.

The lawsuit charged that the company quoted different rental terms and conditions to black rental candidates than it did with white candidates, and that the company lied to black applicants about apartments not being available. Trump called those accusations “absolutely ridiculous” and sued the Justice Department for $100 million in damages for defamation.

Without admitting wrongdoing, the Trump Management Corporation settled the original lawsuit two years later and promised not to discriminate against black people, Puerto Ricans or other minorities. Trump also agreed to send weekly vacancy lists for his 15,000 apartments to the New York Urban League, a civil rights group, and to allow the NYUL to present qualified applicants for vacancies in certain Trump properties.

Just three years after that, the Justice Department sued the Trump Management Corporation again for allegedly discriminating against black applicants by telling them apartments weren’t available.
Paraphrasing Trump supporter on CNN last night/this morning (time is lost on me right now): Never happened because it was settled out of court. :loco:

Republicans, at some point in the near future you're going to have to make peace with the growing cultural diversity of this country. You have economic policies that appeal to many but those minority voters simply aren't going to come on board with a party hostile to multi-culturalism and committed to something resembling White Christian Nationalism.

The pace of change in the U.S. is accelerating and the traditionalists will struggle to find new adherents. I don't say this to be "smug." I really believe you have messages worth hearing but it's hard to hear them sometimes over the crap being brayed by the people still wishing it was 1950.

I think Trump has merely said he will hand over control of his enterprises to his kids.

No divestment or blind trust.

Iirc his Foundation has not been discussed but would Hillary supporters really *not see a problem if the Trump Foundation started receiving millions from possible benefactees of WH decisions once he was in office? And if the Foundation then passed through income to his children for speaking fees? Think about it that way and the conflicts should be obvious. To me they were obvious when Hillary was Senator & Sos as well.

But no & hell no Trump is not divesting himself of anything in the WH.
The kids who are running his campaign, advising him and stand to profit in the billions when he gets the Estate Tax repealed?

At least there won't be a conflict of interest.

Polls over the past few days have been a cherrypicker's delight. Everything's either "wow, not bad at all!" for Trump or utterly terrible.

Most plausible story is that Trump has regained 1-2 points over the past week or two. Slow enough that it can get lost in the noise a bit.

The spread between traditional telephone polls and online+robopolls, which had been pretty negligible pre-conventions, seems to be growing.

He's going to do well in Massachusetts. Splendid , simply splendid. Better than most do-gooders think. Believe me , he'll do well.
I note that Hell Toupee is already working on his pivot from "actual Trump supporter" to "no, I was just mocking him the whole time". Subtle.

It would be less if the DNC had not thrown everything behind Hillary.  Biden would be up by 25.
Oh man. If Biden were an option?  It would have been over already. They'd just have to call it without a vote.

I'd like to post a lot of things in here, at the risk of sounding like an elitist snob.

But I'd like to.

There will be a wall. But it will have big doors that lets immigrants move back and forth freely depending on what people tell donald in the morning.
big "beautiful" doors...so beautiful it will make your head spin...

Except he changes his mind like you change your underwear...every couple of days.

But no one in their right mind is going to eat this turd sandwich of Trump and to some extent the GOP.  The backers of the anti-gay, anti-immigration, anti-women, alt-right, white supremacists type policies need to the thrown out of the GOP or the GOP will suffer the fate of the WHIGS.

You mean the buffoon who told a guy in a wheelchair to stand up...and more recently acknowledged in public that the guy who follows him around has our nuclear codes.

I think you'd find the decent and moral conservatives (like myself) packed up and left the GOP. The alt-right wingnuts have free run of the party now.

You mean the 1950's when people worked for a living and didn't sit on their a** and collect government checks....That was such a horrible time in our history....
