How about we stop consuming this high fructose news syrup and actually demand real policy discussion?
It bothers me so much that things like this have a bigger impact on the election than actual policy debate. This is obviously not a good thing for trump, but shame on all of us for consuming these sound bites instead of demanding real discussion of the issues. If you're angry about government inaction on global warming and eagerly watching and reading news about trump's hand size and genital handling, you shoulder part of the blame. Shame on all of us.
You will be alive to vote for maybe 15 presidential elections and there are a few short months of actual discussion that determine who will lead the world and we are still talking about whether this candidate sweats or that candidate inhaled or this candidate said something mysogenistic 11 years ago. We get some lip service discussion of whether trump is going to build a wall or clinton is going to require women to make as much as men.
Imagine them talking about what they actually want to do with health care and whether they'd fix obamacare or how they'd replace it. Or talking about the economy in 10 years when transportation is more automated and truck drivers are out of work? Can we talk about the deficit as a multiple of gdp? Of course not. Trump has little hands and hilary has a weird shoulder wiggle thing.
If you want it to change you can't accept it when the other guy is the one getting skewered for some awful but ultimately inconsequential gaffe. Please, guys on my side of the aisle, take the high road this time. Don't feed the beast.
