No. Republicans used it to enact a partisan witch hunt that wasted tens of millions of tax payer money to pre-emptively tar Hillary Clinton in anticipation of this year's election. And they've admitted as much -- you are just too far off of the deep end to acknowledge it.

The truly ironic facet to this is that it actually helped Hillary by drowning the very legitimate email issue out as just more shameless Faux News bull####. But keep on beating that drum, guy. I'm sure the American people will get it one of these years.

538's nowcast has AZ and IA very light blue, with Ohio, Florida, and North Carolina all leaning more heavily towards Hillary. If Trump took them all back in an impressive comeback, he still wouldn't have the states to get to 270. He really needs VA or PA, states where he has 5.5% and 11.3% chances, respectively.

Both sides do this, respond to questions/assertions with non-sequiturs. It's pretty silly.

What really seemed absurd to me recently however is how all the pundits on the right were lauding Pence for his ability to "pivot" when asked question about Trump's insanity. Why the #### are they patting this dude on the back for evading questions. I don't understand it.

Wrong.  I have given a lot of thought about Hillary's position on policies, her ability to carry out her vision and her track record.  That was how I came to the conclusion that she will be a ####ty President.

BTW, I agree with some of the things she stands for and disagree with some others.

It's absolutely not a fact to say that the Republican Party supported Trump as opposed to begrudgingly supporting Trump because he won the nomination against their wishes.  It's not fact to say that all or even most registered Republicans supported Trump when more cumulative votes were cast for other candidates than for Trump, and those not voting for him formed a movement called "Never Trump".

There are plenty of true reasons to dislike Trump or the Republican Party so there's no reason to lie and pretend that the Republican Party was wildly supportive of Trump.

You act as if history began in 2015.  The Republican Party actively pushed resentment against immigrants, resentment against minorities, pushed for "law and order" policies.  And of course, they've fetishized the idea of "projecting American strength" overseas.  They've spent decades propagating those messages.  And you want to absolve them of responsibility when a guy from outside their clubhouse comes in and appeals to the very element they worked so hard to recruit to their side.

When the primary for the "party of small government" can be won by a guy who pretty much believes in anything but limited government, you have to wonder how much of that party's message has been about limited government and how much has been about just demonizing anything a Democrat did over the past few decades.  And now it's a surprise that a guy can get a base in that party by doing birther stuff?   Who in the party stood up against that?
