There was more to it at the time - like the massive attempt by the establishment to "Stop Trump." So he said #### off and did something more beneficial to his cause. Net gain for vets and for Trump.
So you agree, it was for his benefit and vets came second as a way to avoid criticism of ducking the debate?

If we increase exports to China, it helps the trade deficit. If he brings jobs back from overseas, he helps the trade deficit. Is it the best option? I don't know if there is a way to turn the deficit around frankly without having trade wars.
You think he does this...how cute.

How much?
I was joking. Dexter, you can stop searching Hannitywiki. I'm sure he did it out of the kindness of his heart and because it wasn't really that much for billionaire to fly his jet to where ever that was in the 80's.

People aren't pissed that Trump raised money for Vets. They think it was in some part a disingenuous and self promoting act using the Vets as window dressing. The fact he had to be hounded to get the money to them and as it was pointed out that he had donated nearly nothing (don't know how accurate that is) to Vets prior lends at least some credence to that line of thought.

Ultimately he raised money so good on him.

I do think the people who are quick to point this out are probably the first to #### on anything Hills and Bubba's foundation did/does but that's another matter I suppose.

What's so funny?

Okay take away the super delegates and bernie is... still losing

But bernie has the peoiple behind him... losing by 3 million votes

Proportional w/o super delegates... Yup still losing to crooked Hillary

Proportional w/ super delegates...  STILL LOSING!

If each state was winner take all Bernie is getting BTFO!!!

So yeah it's  :lmao:  he's still collecting money and idiots are sending him their last $3.50.

Bernie should be ashamed of himself.

To be fair, collecting pledges takes time. I can see being pissed because you think it is disingenuous, but not because it took time to disperse the money.

I'm more concerned that the Democrats prefer a crooked person to an idealist - especially since Obama was an idealist.

I was joking.
That's all you had to say. The rest is one big BUT. I think you know in your heart you belong on the Trump train. But you can't get past the joking. I encourage you to listen to what he says and look real hard at the people who oppose him.

Bernie is still collecting money because the better he does, the more influence he will have to shape the future of the Democratic Party. Winning California would go a long way towards that.

If I shared Bernie's views of the world, I would continue to send him money and be pretty happy with my investment.

People are donating to Berns because they like his message and want him to keep on it. I'm not sure what happens to that money afterwards if he loses the nom. I would guess that's all laid out.

One thing I would trust Bern with that cash.

Trump not so much. Multiple bankruptcies, Fuzzy balance sheets, won't disclose his taxes, a "University" that was shady as hell, etc.

Sane and reasonable people?

Dude, have listened to Trump plenty   He says next to nothing.

The Trump train is a ticket to loserville sitting shotgun next to an orange blowhard with a dead possum on his head. Serious off the cliff potential with guy at the wheel. You think Obama couldn't #### done, oh boy.

This isn't rocket science sho. Trump raised money for vets and you claim you have no problems with that yet you posted he did it only to benefit himself. How can raising money for vets be a good thing when you think he only did it for himself?
Love the sinner, hate the sin.  Appreciate the act, disapprove of the motive.  This isn't that hard.

Over 5 million to vets. Only thing that matters in this and only one guy made it happen.
I mean, sure Fahrenthold wrote the story, but there are the editors and the copy guys and lets not forget the support staff.  This really was a team effort.

He's an admitted socialist. That's a pretty big red flag no matter how many blue hair college freshmen tell me it's totally different this time.

I don't really know what's going on with this story, not that outraged by this in particular.

He got some money for charity that's great. Him not doing the 12th out of 29 debates they did or whatever was a big MEH for me. Getting pissy because some talking hairdos at FOX were being mean to him was funny to me. Even funny that those same schmucks now have rolled over big time.

I was definitely in the camp that he was doing this to duck the debate and then say he was doing it for charity which is kind of skeezy. But that's Trump - used car salesman. But he's great at it, no doubt.

As said before I guess that people who are really fired up to defend Trump for his generosity are also all up in Hillary's ### about her Foundation's work but that's just a guess.

Well, they are both skeezy, even if the ends are beneficial.

I know this won't mean anything to Trump fans but:

Former Trump University Employees Call School Lie and Scam in Testimony

In blunt testimony revealed on Tuesday, former managers of Trump University, the for-profit school started by Donald J. Trump, portray it as an unscrupulous business that relied on high-pressure sales tactics, employed unqualified instructors, made deceptive claims and exploited vulnerable students willing to pay tens of thousands for Mr. Trump’s insights.

One sales manager for Trump University, Ronald Schnackenberg, recounted how he was reprimanded for not pushing a financially struggling couple hard enough to sign up for a $35,000 real estate class, despite his conclusion that it would endanger their economic future. He watched with disgust, he said, as a fellow Trump University salesman persuaded the couple to purchase the class anyway.

“I believe that Trump University was a fraudulent scheme,” Mr. Schnackenberg wrote in his testimony, “and that it preyed upon the elderly and uneducated to separate them from their money.” ...

Some good points in that clip. If Judge Curiel was working with La Raza there's at least the appearance of bias against Trump.

If the firm behind the class action suit is a corporate supporter of the Clintons (hundreds of thousands of dollars), that doesn't look good either.

This thing may end up being a net positive for Trump.

Sounds a lot like most of his campaign.

Trump's claim was that the suit against him was entirely meritless and should have been thrown out on summary judgment.  So no, there is no appearance of bias against Trump.

  That has nothing to do with what I posted.

I'm talking about the Judge and his work for La Raza. Trump's position on illegal immigration is very well known. If the judge is working with La Raza to award scholarships to illegal immigrants he's probably the worst choice to be ruling in a case involving Trump. There's at least the appearance of bias.

So anyone that works with NOW, ACLU, NAACP should also be barred from presiding over one of the many Trump lawsuits?  Basically, he's an angry white male so he can only be judged by other angry white males?

The case has merit.  Trump was lying yet again.  There is no evidence of bias.  And working with an organization not affiliated with the case, yet in opposition to the defendant's political views, in no way casts doubt on the impartiality of the proceedings.

La Raza lawyers association seems different than the gang? No?

If he even knows a Mexican he's biased!!!!

The guy is campaigning against illegal immigration. We can't find a judge who's not awarding scholarships to illegal immigrants?

He worked with a lawyers association in San Diego correct?  That is who was awarding scholarships?

Different than just saying "La Raza" which paints the picture of the violent gang.
Oh. Then I agree. I didn't know La Raza was seen by some as a violent gang. I thought it was sort of a political movement trying to get Arizona return to Mexico or something.

Just saw some of his press conference today.  at Trump saying he wanted no credit for raising money and getting all pissy with the press.

He literally said "I raised" this money over and over again for weeks.

Donald Trump was personally involved in devising the marketing strategy for Trump University, even vetting potential ads, according to newly disclosed sworn testimony from the company’s top executive taken as part of an ongoing lawsuit.

In the testimony, part of a trove of records made public as a result of a federal judge’s Friday order, the executive said that the real estate mogul was involved in discussions and signed off “any time we had a new ad.”

“Mr. Trump understandably is protective of his brand and very protective of his image and how he’s portrayed,” Michael Sexton, Trump University’s president, said in the 2012 deposition. “And he wanted to see how his brand and image were portrayed in Trump University marketing materials. And he had very good and substantive input as well.”
