Em let me explain something to you - the war in Syria and Iraq has driven migrants into Europe, our going in will create more migrants, and then when it's over we will be back where we were in 2011 with an occupation - but now not in one country but in two.

So we will be back further - worse - than where we were to begin with, and then if we withdraw - guess what - more chaos and more migrants.

This doesn't even get into the problem of the danger of war with Russia who occupies the same space. Not to mention the shaky situation in Turkey right now.

Which would be a valid point if I was preaching 100% isolationism. There will be enough counties willing to go to bat for us and their increased trade with the United States will help improve their economies.

This is the sort of argument that was made for Brexit.  It simply doesn't hold water in the real world.  

Though I do agree generally that our trade agreements need better free trade enforcement provisions and better agreements about labor and environmental standards to equal the playing field with our major trade partners, those same types of concessions with Europe would work the other way around.
