Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooof.

Ted Cruz is despised more than anyone else in Washington by the rest of the Republican party precisely because he's a slimy self-serving pile of dog####. You must have missed where he led the whole government shutdown over the debt ceiling for no reason whatsoever outside of personal grand-standing and setting his Presidential run this year.

As far as his "plans," yeah, if you one of those folks that believe that the Bible should play a huge role in the US government and policy, then w're not going to have much to discuss.
No, I'm agnostic and hate the religious right influence on the Republican Party but I liked some of what Cruz talked about on fiscal issues, especially when it comes to a much needed discussion on a possible flat tax. That's in the past and not worth a debate, especially in this thread. I wasn't really disappointed when he lost.

And in the process of invading Iraq, he actually did lead to the founding of Isis!
"The founding of ISIS can be traced back to when Obama pulled troops out of Iraq!"

"No, the founding of ISIS can be traced back to when George W. Bush invaded Iraq!"

"No, no, the founding of ISIS can be traced back to when Bill Clinton decided not to kill Bin Laden when he had a chance!"

"No, no, no, the founding of ISIS can be traced back to when George H.W. Bush invaded Iraq!"

"No, no, no, no, the founding of ISIS can be traced back to when Jimmy Carter screwed up the whole Iran hostage thing!"

"There's a hole, there's a hole, there's a hole in the bottom of the sea..."

Anyways I have taken all the lefties off ignore and if they have any special requests or constructive ideas for my Trump rally trip I am all ears.

I will have my phone but I am not a big photo/video guy so I can't promise any legible or quality pics. But I will do my best. I will try to expose myself to good and back and different crowds. I will specifically try to catalog outlandish statements from crowd goers and detractors. I will keep my eyes peeled for people beating their children in public next to banana split vendors.

Where is @squistion alias notebook ?
Haven't figured that one out yet. People have distinctive quirks in using grammar and punctuation that they usually repeat. They also tend to favor certain words or phrases (that was why Megaton was so easily recognizable as jon_mx).  Nothing seems particularly familiar about this alias. Probably not worth giving any more thought to, however, as most accounts like this disappear after a day or two, as I guess the novelty wears off.

You miss the meltdown a few years back when he threatened to sue FBGs and kill himself because people were making fun of him? Pretty sure that was real.
Oh I remember that. I'm :whoosh:  as to why they allow him to continue to post here?  I assumed for a bit he was a mod-friend/alias?

I guess maybe he really is just a disturbed person. His videos are pretty entertaining though.

Since the timing of the withdrawal from Iraq matched the agreement Bush signed (and Obama tried to renegotiate to delay) you could probably put that one on Bush as well.  Just saying

No one knows except the mods and they have refused to give any explanation outside of noting that when Em's permaban was lifted, that was not an unprecedented action (although no other examples were given of anyone else supposedly banned for life who was allowed to come back).

I can speculate like anyone else and I suspect it has something to do with fear of potential litigation (not that they would lose, but it would still involve legal costs to defend any action).  Or maybe the answer is simple and they just feel sorry for the kid, who hardly seems a model of emotional stability.

Em would need a lawyer first to take up "his case"

Nah, it's the same reason you stick Danny DeVito in a drama--comic relief.

Your tolerance for other options in the presidential race is slightly on the low side & your anger does permeate your posts.  Carry on though.  This is good.

But seriously, I'm not sure it's too smart to let someone back into your "home" that previously threatened to file a lawsuit against you. :loco:

So, are Trumpkins going to be angry that THEIR candidate is giving a pre-scripted interview?

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/02/us/politics/donald-trump-black-voters-wayne-jackson.html?smid=tw-share

DETROIT — Donald J. Trump’s visit to a black church here on Saturday will be a major moment for a candidate with a history of offending the sensibilities of black Americans.

His team is leaving nothing to chance.

Instead of speaking to the congregation at Great Faith Ministries International, Mr. Trump will be interviewed by its pastor in a session that will be closed to the public and news media, with questions submitted in advance. And instead of letting Mr. Trump be his freewheeling self, his campaign has prepared lengthy answers for the submitted questions, consulting black Republicans to make sure he says the right things.

An eight-page draft script obtained by The New York Times shows 12 questions that Bishop Wayne T. Jackson, the church’s pastor, intends to ask Mr. Trump during the taped question-and-answer session, as well as the responses Mr. Trump is being advised to give.

The proposed answers were devised by aides working for the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee, according to an official who has been involved in the planning but declined to be identified while speaking about confidential strategy.

Excerpts From a Draft Script for Bishop Jackson’s Q&A with Trump

Given the importance of Donald J. Trump’s visit to a black church, the Trump campaign went so far as to script Mr. Trump’s answers to Bishop Wayne T. Jackson's questions, which were submitted in advance. A draft of the script was obtained by The New York Times.

The document includes the exact wording of answers the aides are proposing for Mr. Trump to give to questions about police killings, racial tension and the perception among many black voters that he and the Republican Party are racist, among other topics.

The official said the answers could change based on feedback from the black Republicans they are consulting with.

It is not uncommon for a candidate to request interview questions in advance; aides to Hillary Clinton do it from time to time. But it is unusual for a campaign to go so far as to prepare a script for a candidate’s own responses, and highlights the sensitivity of Mr. Trump’s first appearance at a black church. Mr. Trump’s series of slights, including his questioning of President Obama’s birth certificate, has not endeared him to black voters.

The interview will be aired about a week later on the Impact Network, Bishop Jackson’s Christian cable television channel. The official said several Trump aides would be working with the network to edit the taped interview so that the final version reflected the campaign’s wishes.

The arrangement have angered several black Republicans who had been urging that Mr. Trump, who is widely seen as distant from the black community, speak for at least 10 minutes at the service, according to the official involved in the planning. The official said the Trump campaign was uncomfortable with the candidate speaking before the congregation and insisted instead on the private interview.

Hope Hicks, a spokeswoman for the Trump campaign, did not respond to questions about the campaign’s requirements for the visit and interview. She also said she was not familiar with the script.

“I’m not aware of the document you reference but, as you know, Mr. Trump is an unscripted candidate,” she said in an email. “He is genuine and authentic, but not unprepared. Mr. Trump looks forward to attending what is sure to be an important event on Saturday.”

Mr. Trump is well known for veering from prepared remarks or throwing them away entirely. That could happen on Saturday: Many of the answers being prepared for him do not sound much like Mr. Trump as his usual self.

When asked about his vision for black Americans, the script suggests that Mr. Trump stay positive, advising that he use lines such as “If we are to make America great again, we must reduce, rather than highlight, issues of race in this country” and “I want to make race disappear as a factor in government and governance.”

To a question submitted by Bishop Jackson about whether his campaign is racist, the script suggests that Mr. Trump avoid repeating the word, and instead speak about improving education and getting people off welfare and back to work. “The proof, as they say, will be in the pudding,” Mr. Trump is advised to say. “Coming into a community is meaningless unless we offer an alternative to the horrible progressive agenda that has perpetuated a permanent underclass in America.”

To the first question, “Are you a Christian and do you believe the Bible is an inspired word of God?” the scriptwriters have a response they hope will keep Mr. Trump from repeating previous stumbles when asked about his faith.

“As I went through my life, things got busy with business, but my family kept me grounded to the truth and the word of God,” the script has Mr. Trump saying. “I treasure my relationship with my family, and through them, I have a strong faith enriched by an ever-wonderful God.”

Bishop Jackson said on Thursday that he did not know about any preparations the Trump campaign was making. He said he saw no problem with the campaign asking to screen his questions, and noted that in the past he had given advance text of prayers he planned to deliver at the White House.

“We want this to be as peaceful as possible,” Bishop Jackson said. “That’s what I promised would happen. I promised that: You are coming into a place to be interviewed and we don’t want anybody to be hurt or anybody to be misused, so that’s it.”

Of all the proposed answers, the most Trump-like might be his reply to the final question of the interview: What he would say to undecided black voters?

“If you want a strong partner in this journey, you will vote for me. I will never let you down,” Mr. Trump is directed to say, adding, “By the way, my support is now up to 8 percent and climbing.”

Just listened to some news and forgotten how many ex military leaders and Intellegence community folks have endorsed Clinton. Quite a few were former or current republicans.

In past elections getting just a few of these cross party endorsements was pretty significant, much less military types crossing over to endorse a democrat.

This election that news just sort of blended in with all the other stuff. Maybe I'm misremembering.

In conservative circles she had a following.  If she'd improved herself, even a little, she'd have had an opportunity to be a major player.  In the end she was just too lazy to do what she needed to do.  Such a waste.
Going to have to disagree big time. She was a nitwit and a troll. Total Hail Mary by McCain.

But atrump guys dont care.  All these guys are losers who dont know anythjng and have contributed to failed foreign policy in their eyes.

Trump didn't want to discuss who would pay for his dumb ### wall in person but is now battling with the guy on Twitter about it.

What a ####.

She hit a lot of the bullet points.  Governor, mayor, college basketball player, gun toter, woman, not bad looking, boring but diverse family, no real skeletons, religious, super hard core right wing beliefs.  But in the end she was like one of those baseball players that looks great in spot starts, but is exposed when asked to take on a bigger role.

Everyone has the ability to better themselves, she just didn't do it.  She convinced herself that "keeping it real" was her key to success.  Without her willingness to broaden her political smarts, she became all sizzle with no steak.  That only carries you so far.

McCain completely misused her and set her up in ridiculously bad positions.  If I had been running that campaign she would have interviewed with every conservative pundit under the sun.  She would have been doing 3 interviews a day, every day...but all on the "home field".  McCain would have done all the CBS/ABC/NBC liberal crap like the Today Show and Meet the Press, etc.  Let her have the softball interviews pandering to the right while he takes the uber serious left wing shows and panders to liberals.  But no, he went on Fox and Rush, she went on to freaking Katie Couric.  After a hatchet job heavily edited video to make her look bad, that was all she wrote.

McCain would have lost anyway, but at least it wouldn't have been so embarrassing.

My dislike for her is near Trump levels   she has many of his annoying qualities - thin skinned, poorly informed, close minded.

Agree that she did check many boxes and that McCain didn't do her any favors but she was way over her skis. She could handle and interviews with Hannity that's about it. That she couldn't get through an interview with a serious heavyweight Katie Couric didn't bode well for someone in the VP spot.

Watching her now is painful. When Trump got her on stage in Iowa the look on his face while she was babbling on was great.

An advisor who supported him 6 hours earlier now thinks he doesn't want to win.

Melania Trump files $150M suit over escort service report

http://nypost.com/2016/09/01/melania-trump-files-150m-suit-over-escort-service-report/

Melania Trump has filed a blockbuster $150 million lawsuit against the The Daily Mail and a US-based blog claiming they defamed her when they reported that she worked for an escort service, multiple reports said Thursday.

And the British newspaper blinked just hours later, retracting its story and apologizing to the wife of GOP nominee Donald Trump.

Charles Harder, Melania Trump’s lawyer, hammered the news outlets. “These defendants made several statements about Mrs. Trump that are 100 percent false and tremendously damaging to her personal and professional reputation,” he said in a statement.

Harder also represented Hulk Hogan in his successful defamation suit against Gawker Media, which shut down after being ordered to pay a massive settlement.
Make Media Great Again!

Maybe we should forward some of the comments from posters here and the lack of moderation to Mr Harder so we can Make the FFA Great Again.
