His practice/not practice town hall was predictably awful. The chance of a Trump train wreck at Sunday's town hall are 99.8%.

Favorite line: “I said forget debate prep. I mean, give me a break,” Trump said. “Do you really think that Hillary Clinton is debate-prepping for three or four days. Hillary Clinton is resting, okay?”

Uh, YEAH Donald she's most definitely preparing for three of four days. This guy is completely untethered from reality. Can not wait for some campaign staff books to come out after the election. What we're seeing pales in comparison to what we're not seeing.
You won't see any, as the staffers were all required to sign non-disclosure agreements. You may see some "anonymous" sources, but nothing on the record.

David Letterman Would Have ‘Gone Right After’ Trump

If he were still hosting the Late Show and had Donald Trump on as his guest during this presidential campaign, David Letterman said he would have “gone right after” him. “I would have said something like, ‘Hey, nice to see you. Now, let me ask you: What gives you the right to make fun of a human who is less fortunate, physically, than you are?’”

The comments came during an interview with The New York Times this week in which Letterman was asked to comment on the controversy that followed Jimmy Fallon’s lightweight interview with the GOP presidential nominee. On Trump’s decision to publicly mock a physically disabled Times reporter earlier in the campaign, Letterman added, “if you can do that in a national forum, that says to me that you are a damaged human being. If you can do that, and not apologize, you’re a person to be shunned.”
Letterman also responded to Hillary Clinton’s use of a 2012 clip of Trump on the Late Show in a campaign ad that debuted during the Olympics this summer. “I was flattered. I was pleased,” he said of the ad, in which he called out Trump for making his branded shirts and ties overseas. “I felt like I still have a small voice in this.” A year earlier, Letterman labeled Trump a “racist” on his show for questioning President Obama’s birth certificate and ability to get into Harvard.

My uncle posted this on Facebook to much Christian-conservative fanfare.

"The president of the United States is the chief executive of the country. It is his job to surround himself with the best and the brightest. Anyone watching that debate among the VP candidates can see that Donald Trump knows how to hire the best and the brightest. Tim Kaine looks like a creepy clown. Hillary did not select the best and brightest among the Democratic Party, she chose someone who will walk the party line. Please vote with your heads this November 8. If Donald has said too many things for you to forgive him, then vote third-party or stay home. Your children's future depends on serious change this election."

Apparently Trump's first campaign manager was the best and the brightest, followed by the second campaign manager who was also the best and the brightest, followed by the third...

####### morons.

Colbert is trying to get Trump to come on but so far he's a no show. Some good stuff in here but the money shot is at the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cdJ8QxcBjc

  Eeesh

Like this matters to Trumpettes though.
I'm not mad at the half, or whatever the exact percentage of Trump voters are who actually believe his policy ideas are good/acceptable.

Im furious at the balance of otherwise intelligent Republicans who are looking at this psychopath and thinking, well I guess we have to go along with this or we have to admit how effed up our party actually is.

Tribalism and party over country is the only reason Trump will get over 20% of the national vote.

Probably a dozen people have been kicked off Trump's campaign for one reason or another, but Pence did a decent job at the debate and therefore proves Trump surrounds himself with the best.

Trump has no friends.  So, in his narcissistic haze, he also believe he surrounds himself with the best there too. :)

It's not the difference of opinion that drew that remark, it's the complete lack of logic and/or intelligence that opinion expressed.  Of course, the fact that you call a poster pathetic for the expression of his viewpoint is far more "ironic" than what he said.

Praising someone for "hiring the best and brightest" after they've had to fire two campaign managers and subsequently hired Steve Bannon is not "expressing a viewpoint contrary to their own." It's objectively stupid. Even if we dismissing the awfulness of Bannon, the fact that Trump had to fire the two most important hires he's made as a candidate shows that he has trouble hiring the best and brightest.  And there's plenty of other evidence of him not hiring the best and brightest in both his campaign and his business transactions.

There's nothing pathetic or hypocritical about calling Trump a jerk (obviously true) and also calling someone stupid for saying that Trump "hires the best and brightest" when there's clear evidence that the statement is in fact pretty stupid.

Not to mention that Mike Pence himself is nowhere near the "best and brightest" that the Republican Party has to offer. That would be the guy who was picked for the VP nomination last time around IMO. Mike Pence was going to lose his race for Indiana Governor to an unknown Democratic challenger in a very red state -- no one with any kind of actual future in politics wanted anything to do with being on the Trump ticket.

Because he has an (R) next to his name.

No.  What's pathetic is when I responded with, "Can someone reconcile "Trump hires the best and brightest" with 'on his third campaign manager in less than three months', it was met with, "take your minor issues elsewhere.  He's a billionaire for god's sake."

I don't care if someone disagrees with me.  If you pose a sound logical argument, I will respect you.  Since that's not the case here, you're a "####### moron".

You want to step up and answer my question for them?

I ###### hate Hillary more.
I will never understand this other than the potential underlying sexism at play.

If you completely reversed their roles and put Trump's actions on Hillary (the perpetual lying, the complete disinterest in being prepared, the name calling, the lack of any policy substance, the inability to control her emotions, etc), are you saying you would then hate Trump more?

I really think some of you need to unpack why you hate Hillary so much and compare that to the candidate you're voting for.

I find it funny you jumped right to the "Sexism" card.  While Trump is offensive and says stupid things Hillary is liar and belongs in prison.  I can handle behavior issues, I can't handle criminal activity/corrupt government.

Yeah.  Trump is not a liar.  Completely honest dude in all manner of things including his business dealings.

Dig a little deeper.  You'll get there.

What criminal activity/what should she be in jail for? What about Trump? (not paying contractors, bribing politicians, scamming people (TrumpU), and more).

I really don't understand the "but at least he's not a crook!" argument.  I mean, if you're not going to listen to the Director of the FBI when he says that Hillary didn't commit a crime, then you probably need to be that hard on Trump.

When New York started investigating Trump University for fraud, many states, including Florida, expressed interest in pursuing their own investigation.  Trump's charity donated to Pam Bondi, the Florida AG's, reelection campaign.  Florida did not go through with an investigation.  I literally couldn't invent facts that looked more like a case of quid pro quo political corruption. Trump is almost certainly a crook.  He's also a welsher.

And he raped his first wife according to her book.

Not fantastic, but within one or two standard deviations of a normal politician.  Trump is a six sigma event on the "quality of a human being" scale.
In 2014, Hillary and Bill made over $28 million.  They gave away a grand total of $22,500 to charities not named the Clinton Foundation.  They are disgusting greedy people, just like Trump.  Neither should be President and anyone voting for them that believe the ends justify the means should wake up.  Hillary nor Trump deserve to be President and its disgusting that they are the two options being presented.

That's all fine and good to say, but we can't magically snap our fingers and change the options.  One of these two people will be our next President.

Clinton Foundation is an incredibly active charity, and efficient, most are not.

Do you even know what that charity does?

Why would they give their money to another charity?

I'm somewhat aware.  I dove into their financials several months ago.  It is not all that efficient actually.  In the year I looked at (at the time it was the most recent available) the biggest chunk of money was actually just filtered directly into a single different charity. Glancing at their latest report, that has changed.  95% of their program expenses now have "Clinton" at the front of the name.  There is also a boatload of money coming through there, over $330 million last year.  Difficult to account for all of it and what are substantial sums of money can easily be lost in the shuffle.

The numbers show they aren't really charitable people with their income at all and if they truly cared about poor people, they could give a lot more.  Like $10's of millions per year more and still be filthy stinking rich.  I give a higher % of my income away per year than they do and that's even including what they gave to The Clinton Foundation.

She's a greedy, power-hungry person.  So is Trump.  It's sickening.
