When you begin believing you're smarter than another group of people because you've chosen one corrupt political party over another.....
Don't blame us, the Republicans are the ones who decided that anti-intellectualism would be one of their core beliefs.

Once you denounce education and science, you've clearly lost the battle of intelligence.

Well, duh.

Trump is facing a loss of Mondale-ian proportions, and I'm kind of disappointed that it doesn't seem like a wake up call to the grown ups on the right.  A lot of how they got where they are is easily correctable, and there are some building blocks for the future beyond this election which should be being built right now.
:lmao: This from the schtick meister who pumped up Sarah Palin for months on end way back in 2008.

Are we counting houses with yard signs or total number of yard signs?  Most houses with Trump yard signs have 3 or more of them along with many, many American flags.

After the tape came out where he bragged about sexual assaulting women I foolishly thought some of them would take down the signs.  NOPE!  I think a couple of those houses I drive past every day may have added 1 or 2 more.  :oldunsure:
At least the girl scouts now know which houses to avoid.

But he labels you as "them" or "the enemy" because you dared mention anything against his right wing position.
Dude...haven't you seen me trashing Trump in this thread?  I'm not a right winger or a left winger or an ANY winger.  I just hate when statements are made that imply that people on the other side aren't all that bright.

My apologies Steve, I mis-read your meaning.

Clinton will likely be a centrist as President, in the model of her husband. The right will continue to go nuts, of course, with the Benghazi, etc nonsense, but luckily most people can see through that.
I think you are correct in this. I look to her (much to disappointment of many in her party) to be very moderate in her approaches. One could almost mistake her for being a moderate Republican. :P   Her and Bill are and always will be about money and they are not going to upset the apple cart by doing anything too radical.

I'm not a Republican, I couldn't vote in the primaries for my state.
Fair enough, but why even vocally support a guy who probably can't win on the national stage if you priority is to keep HRC out of the white house?

Anyways, I believe that as long as the GOP continues to be the party against abortion and homosexuality, its going to be very hard for them to win the Presidency.  I think Bernie was the only hope to avoid HRC, unless Putin and Wikileaks can deliver some sort of last minute hail mary.

No problem, I'm just calling it like I see it.  A bunch of Republican in congress/candidates who went all-in on the Trump bandwagon and are now jumping off at breakneck speed to save themselves.  I don't blame them, self-preservation is one hell of a motivator, but it makes them look pretty bad to me.  There are plenty of things to criticize Democratic candidates about too, but this is a unique GOP issue at the moment.

Even Ted Cruz, for all of his faults....I at least respected the guy for having the balls to be a "never Trump" guy.  I don't agree with much of what he says, but I respected him for sticking to his guns and owning it. just like the rest of them, I guess.

Yeah, actually, they can.

This will be the 3rd presidential election in a row that the GOP gets smoked by the Dems.

The country IS behind their policies. Sorry, but it's true.
It's not true.  The interplay between demographics and the electoral college map will make it very, very difficult for any GOP nominee to win the White House for the foreseeable future.  The house, and a big majority of state legislatures and governorships are firmly in GOP hands.

Granted the house majority is mainly a function of the exceptionally brilliant gerrymandering that took place after the 2010 census, but that was only possible due to their aforementioned grip on state legislatures and governorships.

If anyone worried more about governing than being re-elected, the rational response towards attempting to truly solve the long term issues facing our country would be bi-partisanship.  Unfortunately, cable news and the Internet, along with the outlawing of earmarks, make that laughably unlikely.

Gang of 8, Simpson-Bowles, common sense gun laws (full background checks, registration), and any other issues with broad popular or bipartisan support just aren't possible in this political climate.

So our current predicament may be the worst case scenario, even for democrats.  Pres. HRC with a GOP senate and house would be a pretty centrist administration, in line with what many believe to be her natural inclination.

If the house flips, it's going to get a hell of a lot worse before t gets better, because then the Sanders/Warren wing is going to be looking for her to deliver, and she'll be forced to go along.

We know who and what she is -- and a moderate Republican is pretty apt. It's why so many of us voted for Bernie in the primary.

Trump may be losing to Hillary, but he's beating Paul Ryan. And based on his tweets and speeches right now, that's who he seems to be running against.

This.

I no longer wonder what internet trolls look like.
There are two distinct groups IMO, at least as it pertains to the internet. On one side you have the older, nationalistic types that frequent twitter and on the other you have the insane individuals who frequent 4chan. A lot of the trolling is coming from the 4chan demo because 4chan is cancer.

Except that he didn't stick to it.

I wouldn't put it past Wikileaks to forge something lategame if they have to.  I mean who is going to have time to clear the metadata in the day before the election.

The wikileaks dumps have helped Clinton.  Republicans think they have gold and waste their time on it.

Any sensible person thinks is that all you got?

This for real?
Probably.  I didn't know there was such a thing as the alt-right until this election, but apparently yes, there is a segment of that group that thinks the 19th amendment was a mistake.

For full disclosure, I've learned that my own person dislike of democracy apparently makes me part of the "alt-right" very broadly speaking.  But yeah, this part is crazy.

Hard to buy the 'she's the devil' story when you get the private emails of her and her friends and there's next to nothing in them.

ETA: I consider her extremely vetted.  Good job, Donald!
