i dont know  pal...walk it back i guess...you brought up a random rocky comment based on me asking  about the president in a president thread...figured we were playing a game or something
There you go.  You (and other Trump supporters) think this is a game.  "We beat Hillary! We won! Score one for the conservatives."

I think everyone agreed what a great SOD Mattis would make.  When he's qualified.
Also, I think almost everyone appreciated that he took a $1 salary.  Some of his detractors gave him credit for the Indiana jobs (I'm still not sure on that one).

On the other hand it's damn near impossible to find a Trump supporter who will admit when he makes a mistake or does something shady, even when it's blatantly obvious.

Nope...and she is pretty irrelevant to him living up to what people have warned about him.
She's pretty relevant if corruption is your concern. If you wasted a vote on a third party or didn't vote though your opinion is pretty irrelevant I guess.

Same with Obama and his sheep that claim he did everything perfect. Just how it goes I guess.

Trump won this state by a ton.  How was my vote a waste again?

And yes...she is irrelevant as we are discussing Trump..,and his corruption.

Or you can keep up the deflection I guess.

And let's not pretend Trump supporters didn't use the fear of a world war involving Russia as a reason to keep Clinton out - we haven't forgotten the "no fly zone" fear, right?

The only other candidate with a chance to win was extremely corrupt. If you think Trump is corrupt then you weren't avoiding corruption this election.

Raw materials, electronics, airplanes, lumber/logs, scrap metal, copper, technology and our money
Lol @ electronics.

They need us for jobs - that's about it.  If they stop trading with us, hundreds of millions of Chinese workers would be unemployed which would lead to destabilization, but an authoritarian regimes could weather that storm.

I was...by not voting for either of them.  it's yet another example of Trump crying loudest about things he is guilty of himself.  But you all don't care that he is that way.  Hypocrisy is quite amusing.

The cult of Trump is getting frightening.  They have so much invested in him that they'll excuse every single action he takes regardless of whether it's obviously wrong.  And their retort of "things need to change" or "he's shaking up the world" are all they need to fall back on to make themselves feel ok.  It's pretty scary.

I think I'll wait until he's actually president and does some actual things before I get too worked up, personally

He's the lesser evil unfortunately, deal with it.

Exactly.  I mean it's not like he has said anything over the last year that would indicate he's a total jagoff or appointed a bunch of dip ####s to very important positions since winning the election or tweeted things that indicate he has no idea how a president is supposed to act.

seriously, a lot of people are just jumping to conclusions here.

We're not China. They don't "get over" losing face. Ever. They'll remember it for the next 300 years.
I am not so sure that China never forgets. I seem to remember something about us allying with them and saving their bacon from the Japanese. That memory pretty much dropped right the #### out of their brains.

Look guys, I've tried to give Trump credit as much as possible since he won. I've praised him for some of the speeches he's made. I like some of his appointments (not all.) Based on what I know about the Carrier deal, I approve of it, and I think he's to be congratulated, and I've posted that here. I WANT him to be a good President, because I root for this country to succeed.

But I think this thing with Taiwan is worrisome. It's not catastrophic, not yet. It's not World War III around the corner. But it's worrisome. It suggests to me that he doesn't really get the repercussions of what he's doing. And I hope that those of you that are thoughtful, even if you're Trump supporters and delighted by him so far, would see that this is kind of troubling. And please leave the partisan stuff out of it for once. This shouldn't be a partisan debate.

It's called the United States is calling the shots. Don't you get it? Other countries should be worried that WE will start WW3.

WE have the leverage, no one else.

I don't think this is a good thing.

Despite a history of corruption and imperialism (which both Asia and Latin America have long memories of) we have as a general rule been a force for good, justice, and the rule of law in the world. Now apparently we're to give that up and act only in our own self-interests? Count me out of approving that ####.

We're the good guys. China does a lot of bad stuff man. Why kiss the ### of a country that treats its citizens like crap, releases crazy emissions into the atmosphere, and manipulates its currency so other countries can't compete?

Push come to shove, we're not the only country that has a bone to pick with China and I like Trump'a approach of picking up allies before he's even in office to get leverage over China.

Push comes to shove, who is the world gonna side with? The jerks who everyone owes money to? Or the leaders or freedom?

Debts generally seem to disappear after war. But no country will voluntarily wage war against countries which their economies depend upon.

We ditch China, we can replace them quickly. They cannot replace us.

Are you saying that Obama only normalized relations with Cuba when it meant nothing. You sir are minimizing the greatness of Obama finally ending the cold war.
I'm saying relations should have been normalized with Cuba a long time ago.  That Obama doing it wasn't a big deal.  I think it's nifty and all, but it's not like Castro is the only jagoff dictator whose country Americans are allowed to visit or invest in.
