I'm just being sarcastic when I probably shouldn't be.  I was making an analogy that Trump is acting like he is, and can do so, because while he's doing things to piss of China, he's not in power yet - Obama still is and is having to deal with this situation.  However it's pretty obvious that China isn't reacting to anything the Obama administration is doing, but is posturing/reacting to what Trump is doing, so they're making their displeasure known now, before he takes office.

So Trump is benefiting from some degree by having Obama in the middle between him and China.
Obama does stuff that pisses of China as well, and he should.  Diplomacy isn't rolling over any more than it is waging war.  China pulls crap that isn't acceptable.

I hope Trump uses a more forceful hand to fix the trade issues.  Issuing a few dozen formal complaints doesn't seem to have had a huge impact.

Dodds:

And when your suspicions fail to bear fruit, you'll just move on to the next conspiracy. That's what conspiracy theorists do. It's their thing.

The WikiLeaks showed massive corruption through TENEO and the Clinton Foundation.  Not much of a theory anymore.  It's fact. The FBI has active cases against the Clinton Foundation and CGI.  I am pretty sure at a minimum those investigations will close.

What the heck is TENEO And why is the FBI going after CGI?  Was the end of Rogue One that bad?  I'm seeing it tomorrow.  I need to know.

Some of the numbers in this Pew survey are staggering:

Percent of Republican/R Leans who describe Trump as:

Honest - 73% (Objectively false)

Moral - 60% (Heard him on tape bragging about molesting women)

A good role model - 52% (See above)

Those saying they are confident he will:

Prevent major scandals - 77% (!!!)

Handle an Int'l crisis - 79% (hasn't taken office and has already started at least one)

Dodds:

I got it from Zero Hedge, but they did say it came from the first source. I have never read the first source, but thought the words resonated pretty closely.
David,

This is exactly how "fake news" spreads. You've assumed that the Zero Hedge article is a direct representation of the "first source" (based solely on what Zero Hedge told you to believe). If you had actually read the "first source", you would have seen that the content of the original article did not contain the smoking gun referenced in the Zero Hedge headline ("The CIA Is Accusing Russia Of Doing Exactly What The CIA Does").

No, Zero Hedge, Redstate, and Infowars told you that they showed that.  Just like they told you about that other scandal that Alex Jones now claims to be a "middle of the road" guy on and that it isn't a big deal, now that he has to deal with real world consequences of what he's saying.

@David Dodds has clearly been spreading fake news for the last few months

Yeah but this is all cherry picking facts.  Like the honesty one, the question was this:

Would you consider Donald Trump honest when measured against that 6 year old boy you knew growing up that would always kick dogs and steal candy and then blame it on you?  Remember that kid?  I know right?  Trump is at least better than him right?  Ok, so I'm just going to say you think he's honest, ok?  No no, just for this.  No one else will know.

Question 2......

@David Dodds has clearly been spreading fake news for the last few months
I said this was an Op-Ed that reflects how many think.  There was nothing suggesting it was news.

Seeing you were talking about the CIA piece.  WikiLeaks showed that we interfered with recent state govt elections.  It's OK for us to do, but not ok for other governments to do?

And Slapdash get a new hobby.  If your goal is to attack me at every post, then you are not long for this forum.  I suggest you consider your next attack very carefully.

There's some scary number here, but also some amusing anomalies.  Here's a good one:

6% of people think Trump has done "too much" to distance himself from White Nationalists.  Sounds crazy, right?  I could maybe understand thinking he's done enough if you're very very pro-Trump.  But too much?  He's basically done the absolute least he could do, addressing it only when asked about it and even then with hesitation.  To think he's done too much you basically have to be saying that you wish the president-elect would embrace white nationalists.

But here's the crazy thing: only 4% of Republicans answered "too much."  9% of Democrats said it.

Either they didn't understand the question or there's a lot more Dixiecrats still alive than I thought.

I agree but there may have been some who said "thats it I can no longer support her" and then voted for a 3rd party candidate or just stayed home.
But if that is true. Isn't it also true that Hillary only had those voters because she had deceived them, and when the truth came out they simply learned that her public platform that they were supporting was at odds with her private platform that they could not support?

Pointing out the reality of what you are doing isn't an attack.  Grow up.

I am so scared Obama openly threatening Russia is scary stuff. I hope we don't make Putin mad. He is a bad guy and he might go to war with us.

White Supremacists support Trump.  Therefore he must be one, despite disavowing them.

Saudi Arabia supports HRC with large financial donations.  She does not disavow.  Therefore she supports LGBT and Women's rights.

It's hard to believe how much of a disconnect there is between trump supporters and the rest of people.

I live in the Deep South where 80+% of folks support trump and the stuff Dodds is saying is said by people I know who are otherwise fairly reasonable people.

This feels like something new...an informational divide unlike I've ever seen it.  Used to you'd have one set of facts and two sets of spin.  Now you have two sets of "facts" with one set being fictional spin masquerading as fact, but with those who subscribe to it holding to it like it were truly fact.

in the olden days only a few years ago, both sides argued spin, or their takes on facts, and had to mitigate arguments at least a little because we knew they were spin...but now, arguing about facts is a different ballgame.

This seems excessive.  Saying that you've been spreading fake news seems like an attack on the content of your posts, not your character.

I can agree with that.  But to be on twitter instead of sitting in security briefings is not nonsense.
Perhaps, Trump knows that speaking directly with the people is important. I get that you think it is dumb, but it is a modern fireside chat, a lot of people feel connected to a President who speaks "with" them and like them for the first time in a long time.

In regard to the briefings, yeah he should go to more of them, but he isn't president yet, and while it is good for him to increase his knowledge base, the guy has a lot on his plate and what actionable info would he get prior to his inauguration?

I think you mean the Clinton Foundation. Otherwise I'll need you to show your work.

Dodds, have you owned the Pizzagate stuff yet?  I saw you spreading that crap around and I haven't seen you own the fact that you got swindled by something that was obviously a wacko right wing fake news conspiracy.

I've also seen you avoid it when you've been directly asked about it in this thread numerous times. Does it bother you that the same sources you find credible now misled you on that stuff?

You Trumpskins are as thin skinned as Trump.  You voted for the idiot, now you have to own it.  Post election stage one chest beating bravado of bashing and blaming liberals, Hillary and the DNC will soon run it's course; but then you're still left with the buffoon you put in the White Hou...er Trump Tower.

I'm trying to imagine a situation that might have happened recently with Trump that wouldn't have happened if he were better versed on our current diplomatic and military situations in Asia.

:lmao:

So is your point that all trump has to do is project power and all other countries will respect him? That's incredibly naive if so.
I didn't say anything close to that. So your point is, that making America look as feeble as possible strengthens their negotiating and political power?

I don't need a buddy.  I need a guy who knows what the #### is going on in the world.

You know, not for nothing, but isn't all skin pretty thin?  I mean, I have a massive paper cut that hurts like all get out right now.  One fracking piece of paper cut through my skin like it wasn't even there.  Are there humans that have thicker skin?  And how much thicker?  We talking like significant thickness?  How do those people give blood?  Are they on posters in mosquito homes like porn?  Who are these mutants with their superpower?
