*** Official *** FBG's Goal Line Blitz Discussion Thread (1 Viewer)

I purchased a team a few days ago and have a question if anyone will answer. Don't seem to get much from the site forums on this, because nobody wants to give their strategy away...maybe some loyal FBG's will help. What is a good Sub In/Sub Out ratio? I've read and used the 60/0, and not too sure that this is the best option. Anyone care to give their strategy away a little and let me know if there's a better option than this? I've messed around with it and can't seem to find anything good.

Team full of LVL's 4-7 players, if it matters...

What do you guys think of this contract offer:

Offer Details

Yearly Salary:$64000 ($1600/day)

Signing Bonus:$25000

Contract Length:5yr

For a Level 6, soon to be level 7 CB

I'm thinking the 5 yr option is way to long and countering with a 2 yr. The owner just bought it a couple games ago and won't want to invest much with only 3 games left.

Keys Intercept is getting more than that, for one year, and is only a level 4 CB.Advertise in the players looking for teams forum if you just want money. They'll offer much better than that.

Yeah, but he has a pretty ncie signing bonus. But there is NO WAY you should accept a 5 year contract.

I'm really not all that concerned with the money, though I do need enough to take care of training. You guys brought up some good points with training in a couple years, that is what I was looking for insight on as well. Heck I've got no trouble being the lowest paid player on a team, just so long as we're winning.

:goodposting: and what are guys doing with all that money? Your owners are going to go broke and if you are training on intense that will surely change when you get more playing time. All that money does you nothing.
For now? Nothing. When the game gets upgraded so money does more? When I'm no longer level 4, but level 12?I'll do plenty with the money. There's more than one way to approach this game.

Ditto on this, I'm having trouble finding a good setting.

I think everyone is still trying to find a good balance where you don't end up with a series where everyone is subbing in and out every play.

So you're trying to get traded? I'm not following. I'm sending a trade offer and will pay you the same contract as above, but a 2 year deal.

What's some good contract numbers? My owner sends out new 1 year offers everytime one levels, I'm getting 875 a day at level 5 but It's 1k to do intense training, I think I'm getting shafted!

You shouldn't ever be training intense unless you're buried on the depth chart. Otherwise your causing your team to go farther down the depth chart during games.

I'm starting, my energy has never been below 85 after games so I usually split it up 1 day of intense and 1 day of normal training before game day.

Dude, kickers are buff when you get them to higher levels. My kicker, Magreb Yuzbejskisovichkinski, was 6 for 6 on FG today. He hit from 25, 26, 31, 37, 38 and 42 yards! This really helps pile the points on.Also, Otis Scupper ran for another 155 yards today.MVP! MVP! MVP!
5 fumbles and is about 8th in the league in YPC from backs that have at least 100 carries.
Well, most of those fumbles were early on, and only 2 were lost. Also, while you conveniently point ou that I am 8th in YPC, you dont point out that I am averaging more yards per game than anyone.
Because you are given more carries per game than anyone.
Well, if I built the guy to carry a workload, how is that a bad thing? Its like the NFL, if LT can carry the ball more than another RB, isn't that a good thing?
It's not that he's the only one who can, it's that he is given the ball that much. Any of the backs on that list could do it if the gameplan was set up that way. Hal9000 is also a good deal ahead of the pack. If the MVP were to go to a RB, he would be leading the list at this point in time.
The line for the Detroit Football Guys should get the MVP

Anyone here interested in signing a rookie FS to a contract?

Meet Copernicus "Copy Kat" Katzenjammer: Link

He really wants to play for a team of FBGs. Use small words in your contract offer, though. He's still struggling with English as a second language.

Sign him and you'll have a guaranteed right of first refusal when his brother Aloysius "Alley Kat" Katzenjammer joins the league later today or tomorrow.

Sweet! "Copy Kat" is a Wine Bat now! He's angling to get his brother Aloysius on the squad, too.

I think it will be interesting to see how things play out as this game progresses, especially free agency and playing time.

as starters continue to level up and increase their stamina, backups will start playing less and less. and since you only get XP for playing snaps, someone who has a well built, high level player might get annoyed with only a handful of snaps per game as a backup. not only would starters get more playing time, they would level up faster because they're getting more snaps, so backups fall further and further behind.

as contracts end, backup players may test free agency for starting gigs, but obviously there aren't enough starting spots for everybody. owners may have to offer big contracts to high level players, and no one will want to sign for crappy money or backup jobs, but yet the owner's financial resources will likely be limited.

so the whole dynamic is pretty interesting, and I think there will be a lot of players feeling like they're getting screwed, either with money or playing time.

This is what will cause stratificaton of the leagues eventually. Also, as your stamina goes up, so does the skill of the players you are playing against which means your stamina will be drained more quickly.Nonetheless, the developers should have done a staggered registration period once they realized that the beta was going to blow up. This would have given them stratification without the frustration that is going to come about.

I haven't read through their forums very much, but I would assume that players are going to age, so to speak. I can't imagine they would let players play an infinite number of years, and eventually max all attributes out. Say, once you play 10 seasons, you are forced to retire, and you get a certain amount of flex points. I also think it would be cool to add a college aspect to the game. Play 4 seasons, spend those 4 building your player up, and get drafted by the league.Just so many possibilities in this game.

Yeah, I wonder how crazy FA will be. I know I've got 2 high level guys that will be just waiting out their 1 year deals.

When things shake out in a few seasons the teams on top will be ones where the group of guys knows each other and is willing to play at below market value. Because there is no way one team will be able to afford all top level guys with the crazy salaries that will get thrown around.

I know its been asked already, but I can't find it. Where do you go on the website to watch your game?

WR Loquacious Jones got cut today by the Moscow Massacre.

:bag:

Not only does that enable Loquacious to sign with a new team (preferably an FBG-owned team), but it has lit a competitive fire in him that may never be extinguished. He's angry. He's determined. He's looking for a little payback.

Give this young man a second chance. Ditch that CPU-powered wideout and sign this flesh-and-blood natural-born man to a decent contract. Get that energy onto the field and reap the whirlwind...TODAY!!!

anybody?
Click on the score under your player's profile, and it's "Play by play." You then click the play you want to watch from the right side of the screen. In our game, my DT Abe Capella had a nice 1.5 yard stuff of Walter Peyton to set the tone.
