***OFFICIAL Godzilla THREAD*** (1 Viewer)

Come on people, It is GODZILLA,.

It is a good summer popcorn flix. It has big monsters destroying multiple cities and each other. Quit looking for subtle meanings and metaphors and just turn your mind off for two hours. Like my 9 year old daughter would go from laughing and then would grab my arm in a few spots.

It wasn't a 5 out of 5 movie. Give it 4 out of 5. Great summer movie. Can't wait to own on Blu-Ray and will gladly plop down my $$ for part two.

Frankly life is stressful and sometimes hard--mindless is good once in a while,
That is what I wanted but did not get. Sure there was some fighting and city destroying but the ratio to crap was way off. I do not feel this was a good summer popcorn movie.
Premier beat me to it and said it better then me. :kicksrock:

Like my impressions stated earlier. I thought it was a great Godzilla movie. If you ever saw any Godzilla movies…the setup was always too long. And you never seem to get enough Godzilla.

But this movie had an engaging and well acted set-up as opposed to some horrendous acting and bad dubbing. I actually love two Godzilla movies before this one.

The Original Gojira in Japanese (with english subtitles)

And Godzilla vs The Thing (Mothra) in Japanese (with english subtitles)

This one ranks right up there with the best Godzilla films. I agree there was not enough Godzilla, but it was spectacular when he was on screen.

Took the wife to see this last night as part of our anniversary. She's not a fan of Godzilla movies by any stretch of the imagination, but she liked the movie, and told me that that was the most she's cried during an action movie, though being pregnant may have something to do with that. The story dragged on through the beginning, but picked up nicely through the rest of the movie. The effects were off the scale amazing, and the story itself held up quite nicely. I'm not saying it'll win awards, but it's a solid movie, and I could see it making a few sequels, though the storylines there are anyone's guess.

Loved it!!!

Only bad thing

is they killed off Bryan Cranston too early.
. And the leads were not great actors.

But the final fight scene made up for everything. When the blue light appeared, his tail started to glow and then it went up his back, my daughter and I were both :excited: :excited: .

Fantastic!

But 3D is not worth it

:goodposting: Being a Godzilla fan, seeing that gave me the same reaction, namely, that #### just got decidedly real, and is about to kick off.

Was thinking of taking my 4 year old to this over the weekend while the wife is out of town. Then I read some details on the level of mass destruction. Probably don't want to have to explain body bags yet.

Excited for this though!
i ended up watching it on Cinemax with my 5 yr old yesterday and he LOVED it. Even watched it again today. Now sad i didnt take him to see it in the theaters. It was pretty damn safe for children.

Caught this on HBO tonight. I'm not really a monster movie fan (So I didn't go in with high expectations) but man was this a steaming pile of ####.

Honestly one of the 5 worst movies I've ever seen.

Godrilla!!!

Resurgence! New trailer for Shin Godzilla debuts online as fans prepare for his first Japanese film in TWELVE YEARS

He's been terrorizing mainly American audiences for more than a decade.

But now Godzilla is returning to his native Japan.

The first trailer for Shin Godzilla - or Godzilla Resurgence - has debuted online.

It is the first film to feature the monster from Japan's Toho, the Studio that created him, in twelve years.

The 90-second clip features no dialogue, just music, but reveals plenty of the monster himself.
