Kendall Wright was drafted to compliment Britt. He's going to blow right past this knucklehead.

Here is the news from MFL from earlier this offseason. With Britt facing legal issues again, Wright's value is about to skyrocket.

(Rotoworld) The Titans plan to get Kendall Wright heavily involved "right off the bat," according to the Tennessean.

Analysis: Few rookies had a better offseason than Wright. He shined brightly in OTAs and minicamps, learned all three receiver positions and proved he could fill in for Kenny Britt (knee) if necessary. Wright will enter training camp with his engine already revving at full speed. There's a lot of upside here in the flier range of fantasy drafts.

(TheHuddle) Tennessee Titans WR Kendall Wright has a good chance to enter training camp as the No. 3 wide receiver.

Analysis: Chris Palmer has a track record of putting his rookie wide receivers to immediate and effective use, so if Kenny Britt's knee isn't good to go early on expect Wright to see more looks than your typical WR3.

I was just about to start this thread, I am beyond pissed at myself for taking Rueben Randle at 1.12 over Wright about a month ago in our rookie draft. I am doing everything I can to get this guy in all my dynasty leagues.

He probably just got a lot more expensive lol. In redraft Nate Washington could be a good play.

Guess I'm a member. Got him in a bunch of leagues.

I don't see him ever being the best WR in the league or anything like that, but I think he can be a similar player to Santonio Holmes. As much as people talk about superstars winning you your league, I think depth is just as important as having standout players. I see Wright as a guy who can be a perennial threat for top 15-25 numbers. His combine was a disappointment, but when you look at the game clips it's easy to see why multiple teams coveted him in the top 25 of the NFL draft. I think he was a bit underrated by the FF community and I'm expecting some good things from him down the road.

(Rotoworld) Kendall Wright is expected to be the Titans' starting X receiver as long as Kenny Britt (knees, off-field) is sidelined this year.

Analysis: We fully expect a lengthy Britt suspension, and he may not be ready for full-time wideout snaps once he does return. Although Wright learned all three receiver positions during OTAs, he took the majority of his reps at split end -- Britt's position. Nate Washington is the Z (flanker), and Damian Williams the third receiver. Wright's current ADP is late in the 13th round.

I just don't think this guy can "take over" a game. With Britt on the field, sure he can put up numbers but against opposing teams CB1s? Not sure...

One my concerns with Wright is that I doubt Britt will be re-signed by the Titans and Wright will be expected to be the #1. I don't view him as that type of guy but he will get his chance soon enough.

deep sleeper Damian Williams
That is what I am thinking
Situation would seem to indicate this. But I just don't think he's very good. I did analysis on him last year and he just never seemed to be able to step his game up.
It was his second year and he did have a decent season for a first year starter in his second year. Can he progress? Looks like he will at least have a chance to get on the field. I am not really high on him but he is worth rostering as a deep sleeper.

He's doing pretty good for having received his first playbook ever back in May.

Kendall Wright gets his first playbook, ever.

Titan receiver Kendall Wright, the 20th overall pick in the 2012 draft, has gotten a playbook.

It’s his first playbook.

Not just his first NFL playbook. His first playbook ever.

Baylor didn’t use a playbook, and Wright’s high-school team didn’t have one, either.

“For me, it’s learning everything,” Wright said Friday, via the Associated Press. “I was just out there. We had a lot of different stuff we ran at Baylor. But right now I have a playbook that I’m studying every night and going over with coaches in the meetings. It’s a different learning process for me.”

Still, Wright had memorized 300 plays at Baylor, which were called in from the sidelines. So he’s definitely got the brain power to pick up the plays that are reduced to writing in Tennessee.

Dynasty owners who settled on him after Michael Floyd went off the board took him ahead of Floyd in rookie drafts =

I'll do you one better. I had a rookie dynasty owner offer him to me for a 2013 3rd rounder. I accepted instantly and he told me it was because he had an eye on a rookie but didn't have the room. That rookie is BJ Cunningham. Works for me, I got drunk at the draft and needed the help.

While it's unclear when the Jaguars will sign No. 5 overall pick Justin Blackmon and get him into camp -- a situation made more tenuous because of Blackmon's legal troubles -- the Titans reportedly have made their agreement with No. 20 overall pick Kendall Wright.

That's according to TitanInsider.com's Terry McCormick. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the deal is worth $8.2 million over four years with a $4.4 million signing bonus.

While Wright has missed the first few days of training camp, the Tennessean writes that significant progress was made between the two sides in the past 24 hours. Now that his deal reportedly is signed, he can begin the process of upgrading a Titans receiving corps that might be without the services of Kenny Britt for a while.

Hard to blame the guy for holding out -- between Britt's health and legal problems and Blackmon's DUI and holdout, he had a bunch of leverage over the Titans. Looking forward to some camp reports now.

They way they're slotted, it was a dumb move. It's hard enough to make an impact in a rookie year with a full camp...he now limited himself, when a big opportunity is there b/c of Britt.

so i disagree that this was a dumb move, he got a nice signing bonus: Kendall Wright and Titans reach agreement on a. 4 year, 8.2 million deal, including a 4.4 million signing bonus, but more importantly, he ended up getting 92% of the 4th year guaranteed, which is a big thing. Our own Sig tweeted " Kendall Wright should offer to pay Britt's legal fees on his latest arrest, because he doesn't get 92% of 4th yr guaranteed without that.

so there is some wiggle/negotiating room with these slotted contracts (like the Criner signing bonus: Juron Criner reportedly wanted a $158k signing bonus as opposed to $144k. Ended up getting $144,560, miniature power play earned him nothing)

and we are not talking about a Crabtree hold out, he missed a couple of days and will be a full go on Saturday: To follow CBA rules, Kendall Wright won't be able to practice full go immediately. Will practice Thursday but not FULL til Sat

excited to see what he does the rest of preseason, especially since Locker could be the starter Week 1... imaging the playaction freezing the safties and Wright getting behind them and Locker letting it rip.

Financially, sure he got a few more thousand dollars.Football, dumb move. He was one of two holdouts(Blackmon) that missed anything in camp. I'm sure Andrew Luck could've held out for the moon because he knows they need him too...but in a football sense that wouldn't be intelligent.

somewhere between a few more thousand dollars and hundreds of thousands guaranteed, it makes sense. Especially since the player only has leverage a couple of times in their career.

If the early reports say he looks lost/confused/out of shape, you will be correct. If he steps right into the X position and makes plays, then Kendall is right.

I have to come down on the side of "it doesn't make much difference to his chances." A few days of camp is no big deal. The holdouts that go into the preseason games do hurt. But this won't stop him from playing in any of the preseason games.

Seeing as he'll probably only sign 3-4 contracts in his entire career, I don't consider it a dumb move to sit out and miss a whopping two days to maximize the value of his deal. You are really kidding yourself if you think a couple practices is going to make a tangible difference. Heck, didn't Tomlinson practically miss his entire rookie training camp? Sure didn't hurt his rookie season or his career. Much ado about nothing.

Glad he's in camp though.

(Rotoworld) Titans OC Chris Palmer confirmed that he's counting on No. 20 overall pick Kendall Wright to play a major role in year one. Analysis: "I've been fortunate in my career (to have coached) Andre Johnson, as a rookie, had 975 yards. Terry Glenn as a rookie, had 90 catches," Palmer said. "I felt good about those guys, and I feel good about Kendall, what he can do." Palmer added that he plans to play Wright in "several spots" around the offensive formation, and predicted that the first-rounder "is going to be a star in this league. ... He's got stardom written all over him."

You've gotta love comments like this from the OC. I'm thinking we could see 70rec 900ish yds 7td. Damn good year for a rookie and it's only just the beginning.

Just snagged him in Round 12 of a deep league (as my 5th WR).

I really like his field speed and throwing that together with a coach who is used to wide open offenses (WR coach for the R&S Oilers, coached with New England when Bledsoe was throwing it 600+ times) has me thinking that Wright may be a rookie who finishes in WR2 territory depending on QB play.

I wouldn't be surprised if he has immediate success in the regular season.

Love Palmer's history of using rookies too. All signs pointing north for Wright so far.

And let's face it, Britt is hobbled and the rest of them played so well that the Titans decided to pass on guys like Chandler Jones, Riley Reiff, and David DeCastro. These are all players who would be in positions of need for them. And they chose Wright. He's the highest drafted receiver on the team. The only player drafted higher on the offense is Locker.

Per Rotoworld:

Kendall Wright - WR - Titans

Titans WR Kendall Wright caught all three of his targets for 47 yards in Saturday's preseason opener.

The 5'10/196 Wright showed his quickness, separating from defenders with ease. Working primarily with the second team, all three of Wright's targets came from the hand of Jake Locker. Wright figures to see more work as the preseason progresses and is the favorite for slut duties once Week 1 rolls around.

Bump Wright if he indeed is the favorite for "slut duties"! :banned:

Chugga chugga choo choo!!!! : :excited: :excited:

I'm off board unless Locker is the starter. Wright needs a qb who can extend the play and chuck up bombs to him after the play breaks down.

I don't really think that is the case. I think he is going to run a lot of stuff out of the slot and has a great skillset for such action. I think he has a very good shot to lead the Titans in receptions THIS SEASON. I could easily see 75-85 balls if he stays healthy. Hass will hit him when he's open. But I don't think Hass can hold off Locker all season long unless they continue to win games consistently. If they enter November sub .500 you could see a switch.

Is he going to be a starter and then slide it into the slot ala Cruz or will he only be in on 3 WR sets? I know Titans will go Run and Shoot but I'm interested.

I think it's speculation, but I bet he does slide into the slot in 3 wide sets. Britt's status definitely mucks up the situation.
