So over/under on how long this show lasts, between revolving door at 105.3 and not exactly dependant Greggo do they make six months?

Quoting Phil Mickelson to my seven year old is becoming more and more common at my house...

"Why are you yelling? You're a foot from me."

My Wife was yelling at the cat the other night and shouted "Hey Dill...." Converted her to a P1 over the last few years.

In fact, We were at Xenofest at Lee Harvey's last Saturday and I recognized The Old Grey Wolf standing near the bar watching the band La Cure. I pointed him out to my wife (drunk) and she went over to him and told him how much she liked the show and that she was a P1. He said thank you Sweetie as he glanced at her b00bs - classic Rhyner right there.

So does anyone have an idea what happened to Donovan on BaD radio? They are on vacation this week but last Friday Dan made an obscure announcement that Donnie was off the air and it was unclear when and if he would ever return to the show or The Ticket. He never was a huge part of the show to me but he did a lot of weekend promos and worked with Norm on the Cowboys postgame show. Wonder who they would tap for that if he is gone permanently?

Wow, that's news to me. I hadn't heard Donny was gone. Seems like a nice guy, but pretty much had a big bag of nothing. In fact, he seemed to have been pigeonholed into bringing the "brother" shtick. Bob & Dan aren't bad on their own but IMO they could be better with a 3rd. They should take a cue from the Hardline and get a producer who can jump in every now and then like Danny.

What kind of tone was Dan using? I can't find anything about this.

He mentioned it at roughly 2PM on Friday right before the vacation talk segment and he sounded serious enough about it IMO. It was basically one of those "we are not going to comment on it as management will not allow it" statements. Party line kind of stuff to keep people from emailing and calling. Bob did not say a word while Dan was sharing it. It was read like a promo - definately strange.

Did you check the ticket forums?

There was a segment where Donovan got pretty far out of line. Some local country band was at a remote and they were interviewing them. Donovan was doing a horrible impersonation of a country band with a bunch of racist lyrics and nobody really stopped him. I wouldn't be stunned if that gets him sent packing if it was something specific he did.

Russ Martin starts up July 19th on the Eagle mornings, or sooner, depending on some factors. Dude opted out of a huge contract. This may give 105.3 some cash to get some drive talent now. Maybe.

The Greggo show isn't half bad really. They need one more part to that show and they could push espn off that timeslot altogether.

I am so effing sick of morning talk. 97.1 really had something going with the music thing in the AM. It's working well for 102.1 I think.

I can't wait to get a new car that has XM and iPod controls. Terrestrial radio sucks so hard. Except for 91.7 and 1310.

Is anything working for 102.1? They are behind every pop music station in the market and 97.1 . Russ will bury them.

Oh he definitely will.

Half price DFW (kind of like Groupon) via cumulus (The Ticket) has a 50% off offer for McKinney Avenue Tavern. You get a $50 gift certificate for $25 and $3.50 S/H. In for 1 and getting my wife to get one too.

McKnney Avenue Tavern 50% off

I went ot MAT for the England/USA WC match and it was nuts. Decent place but it is laid out a little strange. This would be a sweet deal for the WC Finals or if you want to go out for a Cowboy game sometime.

Edit to add link...

Sounds like it must have been a throwaway comment by Dan. Gribble just said on the air during the Rich/Mike D. segment that Donovan and Bob would be back monday, while Dan has monday off.

Has anyone listened to Russ Martin yet? I keep forgetting he is on in the mornings.

Greggo/Richie are somewhat listenable. Not good enough to take away from BaD.

The Hardline segement yesterday where Danny was talking about his new lover named "Texas Rangers" had me laughing so hard I almost had to pull over.

"Things were going along great with her, and then on June 9th, she went out and got a huge boob job named Cliff Lee!!"

Hell no. Can't imagine it being better than what he's done before. :unsure:But how about those courage boys as Marconi finalists again? :bag:
Read from Wilonsky I think that his first morning was highlighted with a ton of dead air. I just don't get the appeal, even for long time listeners who are "insiders".Good job to those courage boys. They are really putting up a solid consistant show. I keep waiting for a Day One guy to call it quits, but doesn't seem like it is going to happen anytime soon.

Rhines is going to be the first to bail. He's already mailing it in half the time, I think he's only sticking around as a favor to Corby. As for the Marconi nominees:

MAJOR MARKET PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR

Jody Dean and The Morning Team, KLUV-FM, Dallas

Dunham, Miller & Keith, KTCK-AM, Dallas

Gene and Julie, KVIL-FM, Dallas

Ronn Owens, KGO-AM, San Francisco

Pierre Robert, WMMR-FM, Philadelphia

Jody Dean is like 145 years old right? So is that guy from San Fran. If this is a lifetime achievement award then point to one of those two.

Gene and Julie are pretty unlistenable. They use to pipe KVIL into one part of a building I worked and it was horrible. Instant headphones anytime I had to go into that building.

When solo I listen to the Ticket or heavy metal. When the kids are in the car I listen to oldies, KLUV specifically. For years the main personality was Ron Chapman and he made me want to icepick my eardrums. I was thrilled when he announced his retirement and Jody Dean took over his duties. After spending some time listening to Jody Dean and The Morning Team I am wistfully missing Ron Chapman. The fact that Jody Dean even got nominated tells me the Marconi awards are total BS or completely political.

I think the whole marconi thing blew up in my eyes during one super bowl media week. They ran around and dropped the marconi thing on some radio personality, and he revealed that they only nominate people that belong to a certain radio club of sorts. I think it was Mike of Mike and Maddog or whatever.

What was "BAD Radio Reports" about? I guess whatever it was, management did not like it.

Dan: This segement brought to you by Autoplex and Big Brother.

He was reading a job opening. I assume the one to fill Chris House? And in the middle of it they had to stop. Now they are playing a repeat of an interview, or at least they were.

Guessing the "producers handbook" was really an internal handbbok that they did not want in the talk show hosts hand nor on the radio.
