***** Official KTCK/1310 AM "The Ticket" Thread ***** (3 Viewers)

I remember you trying to set up a league a couple of years ago so I just went through my inbox. I still have the original PM you sent about it on July 14th 2008. :bag:
Something like that. Basically there are a few ways this could work. The one that shuke does drafts on a sunday afternoon at hooters or something.Could easily gather as many live people at Stan's or a more geographically neutral hooters/BWW, the rest online somehow, and the rest just put a list in as a last resort. This seems to be the most plausible scenario to get as many people in person together. Second fall back would be a weeknight somewhere. This poses tons of issues that aren't there in option 1 and likely a huge headache with people no-show etc.Third fall back would be online only.
Love the Hooters idea on a Sunday afternoon. We need 12 though and I don't see 12 active participants in this thread. But as I said earlier, I'm still in.
interested even though I tend to forget about this thread

I'm giving up on the Hardline. I just can't take Corby anymore and there is not enough Danny to justify fighting through his douchery.

 BUT.... <whitney>IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE will always love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu<whitney>

I'm too lazy to Google it, but it would be interesting to see how the Hardline ratings have progressed over the past few years. I can't imagine the Hardline's arrow is pointed anywhere but down.

Nope. Actually, the hardline is the show gaining the most share in its timeslot. I think that's due in no small part to the Russ Martin situation.

Wonder what (if any) interactions are like between Ticket guys and Greggo. From his Tweets (@TCUWhiteTrash  ) I know he is in San Antonio.
I know that Greggo reached out to Rhyner on twitter for something, to confirm something they did back in the day, and did not get a response. He later tweeted that he at least expected a Go To Hell or something, but not nothing.

How Greggo still has (or for that matter ever had) a job in sports radio is beyond me. He says some of the most ridiculous things that I have not been able to even listen to him since he left 1310.

Yeah I vaguely remember that too Bogart. I have to imagine they have physically crossed paths in the training camp media areas and whatnot. Aaaaaawkard.

Spending five hours at The Loon on a weeknight is a terrible idea. :hangover:
lol. Any hotties?
Yes.
I have yet to go there or to the Barley House. Those will be some of my first stops as a single man.
Any developments on this front?
We both have a week of travel in front of us. I'm in Austin for two days this week and she is out of town the rest of the week. Going to sit her down hopefully next weekend. I can't drag it out any longer. I have all my ducks in a row and can be separated the second the conversation is over.

I run into Danny at the Barley House quite a bit. I'm usually plastered and make a complete idiot out of myself. He's a good guy though, always very friendly. Stu -> blondes vs brunettes charity football game afterparty at Bryan Street Tavern tomorrow night. I think they're blocking off the street. Lots of booze, lots of girls.

:banned: where is the drunkt hread?

Think I could convince The Ticket to let me fight Corby at Fight Night? I have never thrown a punch at another human being, but I think I could whip his ###.

Anyone here happen to know where the visitors' section is at UT? Looking at tickets to the OSU game and ticketmaster says "Section GA, Row GA9". I don't see any indication of where that might be on the seating chart.

Drew Pearson is an "about damn time" Ring Of Honor member. Larry Allen is a no-brainer member, but I think I would have waited and put him in by himself. I don't agree with Charles Haley going into the ROH. Yes, he was really good while he was here, but he was a mercenary and will always be a 49er to me.

No Bob for the next 4-6 weeks as his whole family goes down to Honduras to adopt a son.

Good for him, but I don't think I can do a month plus of just Dan and Donnie.

4-6 weeks? What the hell?
I guess you go down, and claim the kid, but then it takes that long for the kid to have travel rights to come back to America. Bob says most would have a single parent to stay during that time, but he is not having his wife stay down there by herself, and so the whole family, kids and all, are leaving work/school to spend the month having quality time before the kid comes up here.Good for him, not many have the ability to take that kind of time off.

Rightfully so, the product has steadily devolved IMO.Musers - Same as ever, radio gold

Norm - Great analysis, but has always been a tune out for me

BaD - Borderline tune out already, a month of Dan and Donnie will be a dead zone

Hardline - Pretty much unlistenable

This thread has steadily evolved into the Haters Club. Just sayin'.

I have no idea if it's any better or any worse than it used to be but I don't get why some of you keep listening if it's such an ### whip. I also wonder how much of it is "good 'ol days" syndrome.

I get tired of BAD in the summer. When they feel like they have free reign to talk about anything but sports it can get old. They are better with a couple of non TIVO segments thrown in.

I think for me, it's kind of the opposite of the "good 'ol days" syndrome. While I applaud The Ticket for keeping the same lineup as long as they have, I think there is a reason why there is constant turnover in radio, people need change. I listen less and less because I don't need to hear the same bits, the same opinions. I still listen quite a bit because I want to catch those bits of radio gold, but I'm more of a Pandora P1 now. Thinking of giving Ben and Skin more of my time, especially when the NBA kicks back up. You get guy talk with them, but I think you also get deeper sports talk from them as well. Norm and Bob are the only guys on the Ticket that are still trying to talk in depth sports anymore. Rhyner and Corby aren't even interested in sports anymore. Corby really needs an FM gig where he can talk about his privileged life in between spins of Nickelback and Gaga.

so how is DaD radio going?
I like Followill a lot. He is as sportsy as Bob. They are talking a ton of Rangers and Cowboys. So, so far so good.I don't like Rhads. I like him even less since he lost his play by play gig. I won't be listening for the rest of the week, but will tune back in next week for a full week of Followill. I would bet a dollar they get Cuban on at least one of those days.EDIT: No Donnie Do today. Not sure where he is. There has been more Grubes because of that.
