Band of Horses was great, but god was the sound a letdown. They ####### killed me with how loud they had everything cranked. The vocals absolutely drowned out the band, which is a shame, because the band sounded awesome.

My body is taking me to The Lodge for my birthday tomm. Never been there. Is there anything I should know about the place before I go. Tuesday night is already going to be awkward, and I am use to the Level B dancing clubs (Baby Dolls, Fantasy Ranch, etc.) Any info you may have will be appreciated.

Can't help you out, married for over a decade with 3 kids. The only advice I can give you is that Great Wolf Lodge is a pretty cool place. Make sure you let the kids do Magic Quest. :lmao:

PID and I were there. Now that you mention it, the guitars weren't loud enough. Good show, anyway.

I thought the sound got a lot better about halfway through the show, but yeah, even then the guitars weren't loud enough.

My friends took me to the Lodge last year for my birthday, and we are planning a return engagement this year in a few weeks (or Shreveport). I don't normally go to strip clubs (I've been to the Million Dollar Saloon once, some place in Houston once, and some place in New Orleans once), so I'm not sure what would be different. It was a nice place. All table seating - no stadium seating or anything. We went on a Monday night last year and the place wasn't crowded at all. We sat in the main room, but they have other rooms with different themes (I know one was the "library"). In the main room they have the main stage as well as several smaller stages. My friends who frequent strip clubs fairly regularly say it's the best in Dallas as far as the niceness of both the club and the talent. Was there anything in particular you wanted to know? What's going to make it awkward?

Only awkward because I'm not really a strip club guy, and sure not a guy that goes on a school night. I can't imagine that Tuesday is the prime time for the establishment.

I know what you mean. Like I said before I'm not a regular by any means. I was unsure when my friends first wanted to take me there, but once I was there I was able to relax and have a good time. I was actually glad we went on a weeknight and that it wasn't as crowded. Still a good number of people there (mostly older, professional types), but not so crowded that we couldn't get a table or anything. We got there around 10 and left before midnight.

I'm glad I'm not alone in how I felt, at least. I don't know if I can stomach another show in that venue without some work on the acoustics. Granada or HOB would've been a much better stage for them.I parked next to the soundboard (where I usually like to go if it's GA because the sound is usually best there) and it looked like the techs had a big "oh s--t" moment because they ripped a bunch of equipment out of the racks and replaced it in a hurry. That might've had something to do with the sound being so off.

I thought Mark Followill was pretty good yesterday. He's perfect because he's up on the shtick, lingo, and tone of the show. He's a little stiff-sounding at times, probably due to his new gig. It'd probably be hard to make it work, permanently, with said gig as well.

Wow.I highly recommend The Lodge for all of your gentleman's club needs. It was a great time with a wonderful 6'3" redhead giving me a top 3 lap dance of all time for my birthday.

:welcome: :lmao:  Took today off work to recoup. Small crowd, good group of dancers, and we had a secret weapon as one of my GB brought his brand-new, way too smokin hot for him, girlfriend. The entertainers loved her.And as I mentioned above, there was a stunning, very fun, redhead who did about everything you could legally for the greatest 11 mins of my day.

:thumbup:Good to know about the secret weapon. One of my friends has a hot girlfriend, and she has talked about possibly going with us when we go for my b-day. We'll have to make this happen. When I went last year, I had a hot little blonde give me a lap dance, then my friend asked another entertainer to join the blonde on my lap. To recap: two hotties doing things to each other while they moved against me. My friends kept paying for them to stay for more songs (I think it was five songs total) because they were enjoying watching the girls so much. Happy birthday, indeed.

Surprised no comments on the pendola crap. The blog post of his they read must have been put up 2 months ago and was linked on here at some point.

So... Ticketstock... anybody know how getting tickets for autographs works? For example, Mike Modano is signing tomorrow from 4-5:30, and they start handing out tickets at 3. If I am there to get a ticket at 3, can I go back to work for an hour then come back over at 4 (I work across the street from the Plano Centre)? Or do I have to stand in line for an hour?

BTW, who the #### is going to buy this book?
I may actually read it (not buy, but read). While Rocco had some truly bad moments on the air, I always felt bad for the guy in a Metallica Bass Player way. He got invited into the clubhouse, but never got to sit at the grown-up table. At either the first or second Ticketstock (whichever one Rocco was a part of), I went around trying to meet faces with voices and show my wife (girlfriend at the time) who these guys were that I listened to daily. Every single day-one guy (Rhyner, Greggo, Junior and esp JubJub) gave me total Heisman when a very quick handshake and hello would have been available. The only guys who gave me the time of day were Gordo and Rocco, who talked Stars for a few minutes and signed my program.

Ironically, Gordo is one of the most approachable hosts on the station. I've met him before and he's very friendly. He's also very good at replying to emails. For the most part, most of the hosts I've talked to are friendly. The guys that will big time you the most are Rhyner, Junior, & JubJub. I've never met Greggo, but he was always good in replying to my emails (same with Gordo, Bob, & Dan).

The Cowboys off-season thread in the SP is a trainwreck. That Quick Slant guy is a giant tool.
I may have to activate an old alias to really start to fish this guy. He rubs me all kinds of the wrong way. Nobody has ever had such a knack for coming off as knowing everything there is to know about rumors. When someone says "That sounds great hope it happens" he responds with "Well since it came from this guy and that guy said this it won't so ####" How do those whiny tools get on staff?

What I want to know is how he's been here less than a year and is on staff. How did that happen?

The combination of being annoying and willing to work for free would be my guess.

He claims to be paid.

Skin just had a really great segment on B&D. He deserves more airtime from February through June.

I loathe the NBA but listening to him talk about it is a treat.

What'd he say about the trade? He knows basketball, that's for sure.
Basically that the Mavs are ######ed for doing this deal. He backed up his side with a lot of research showing how efficient the team is when Harris is running point vs. when he isn't. It's like a 15 pt/g difference right now. He said if they were willing to do a deal like this, they'd be better off just blowing it up altogether since Kidd won't magically turn Dirk into a low-post scorer.

Do we think they're done dealing? Giving up Diop leaves them with whom at center?!

Erica and Juwan Howard. Who exactly are they gonna deal for in the big man category? I guess they could try to move Josh for someone, but now that Gasol and Shaq have moved, is there anyone really available?

I kind of feel the same way as Dan McDowell. He said, "Eff it." Just go for it. This team wasn't doing #### the way they were. Will they make any noise now? I don't know, but I'm interested to see.

This is kind of how I feel. I was just hoping they wouldn't roll into the playoffs with the same team as the last two years. At the very least they've got me interested again.

The future draft picks are the only thing that kind of bother me. We'll see if that's actually part of it.

late 1st rounders are worthless. Guys of that quality just take up spots on the bench that you can easily fill with role players at any time.

Josh Howard was a late first rounder.BTW- why does Cuban take no grief at all for getting rid of Steve Nash and getting nothing in return?Nash didn't even want a max deal, he wanted $10M a year over 5 years.Dumbest move in the NBA in recent memory.

While I agree letting Nash go was a mistake, the luxury tax was a big reason Cuban let Nash go. Cuban offered a 4 year, $36 mil deal, but Phoenix offered 5 years for $65 mil. Cuban could have matched the Suns offer but chose not to. It never should have gotten to the point to where Nash could have left as a free-agent - at least do a sign-and-trade.

If I remember correctly (I'm not a Mavs fan but live in the metroplex) the biggest issue was Nash's durability. It seemed that every year as the playoffs loomed he was battling injuries. In hindsight he's been pretty durable so losing him looks worse than it was at the time.

The details still were being worked out, but Stackhouse said his agent told him the trade would be completed."Now I think it's pretty much a done deal," Stackhouse told The Associated Press.Stackhouse added that he may be able to rejoin Dallas within 30 days, an indication the Nets would buy out his contract."I feel great. I get 30 days to rest, then I'll be right back," he said. "I ain't going nowhere."

This makes me think the Nets agreeing to buyout Stack was an integral part of the deal.

Makes the trade a LOT better for the Mavs if it's true.

Howard was a once in 10 years 20th+ pick in the years where teams were still loading up on high schoolers and let quality ncaa guys slip. That may never happen again. Ever.
