Official MLB playoffs thread: 23 hour game exhausts all ball supplies (1 Viewer)

Who wins it all?

I read zero articles today about the game.  Was there any talk about Nunez fall into stands being unnecessary and leading directly to the tying run?  Looking through this thread, nobody mentioned it.  I replayed that many times over and am convinced he could've pulled up prior.  His headfirst dive into first was also unnecessary (and dumb) and the fact he needed a trainer after it, for no apparent injury, kind of substantiated his love of the camera.  Even the fall at home was nothing.  But he had to jog both off.  I mean come on.
We talked about it for like 2 hours in here.

I mean, I get why Roberts took Hill out. He did give up a whole hit.  :wall:
And he takes him out to bring another lefty in to face a lefty hitter when Hill was at 91 pitches.  Why not let Hill face one more batter?

I mean it's incredible mismanagement.  Then you compound the issue by bringing in Madson, who has been terrible pretty much all year, and struggled with his command in this series.  Why would you not use Baez there?

Baez went two yesterday

After an 18 inning game the night before, my starter isn’t coming out of the game until a crooked number is in the board, period. But these guys always have to show us how smart they are.

Saving him for the 14th inning

Hill is not a power pitcher who was maxed out..he was cruising smooth and easy and could have finished the inning.

Hope they kept the beer stand open.  Lost a couple million in sales last night.

EDIT  maybe not.

Roberts is the new Dusty Baker
Seriously.  My worst sports moment for almost a decade.  Giants had a terrible pen against the Angels.  Terrible coaching decision to pull Russ Oritz game 6 up 5-0.  Cost them the WS because of his incompetence.

Always appreciated Bochy.  Felt like he made the right decision more often than not.

I was at that game.  I'll never forget Dusty giving Ortiz the ball as he walked off the mound.

In game 2 of the 2013 ALCS Leyland took out Scherzer after 7 1/3 up 4 runs, in a 5-1 game where he was awesome.  Bullpen loaded bases and Ortiz hit the grand slam to tie.  Tigers would have gone up 2-0 headed back to Detroit and that series was over.  That is the most painful game ever for me, this game had the same script.

Maeda kind of sucked out of the gate last night. I thought the Sox bailed him out with the bunt. After he made that play he was nails but started out shaky. Surprised They went to him there.

Hope these Red Sox fans at the game stay safe leaving the game - Dodger fans not exactly the best of losers. It might be time to tone it down a little.

Maeda looked dull last night, but saved the game maybe with that incredible fielding play of the bunt to third.
It was a strong fielding play but not the greatest bunt. Should have either made the third baseman field the ball or bunted down the first base side to make for a longer and more difficult throw.

Hill went 7IP max just four times this year. He often just goes five
This is the 2nd comment you've made in this thread where it doesn't seem that know what the date is.

It's OCTOBER 27TH, 2018 and this is GAME 4 of the WORLD ####### SERIES.  Who gives a #### what Rich Hill did in June?  :wall:
