I've been playing for two decades (minus a few years lost to babies) but I think I'm off to my worst start ever. I'm not talking about the Serious Business League where I didn't expect much but in my other 5x5 mixed roto redraft where I'm a perennial contender. It's a fun league with short lineups so there's always lots of free agent action.

I didn't think my offense was too bad coming out of the draft:

C Soto

1B Votto

2B Figgins

SS H.Ramirez

3B Beckham

OF Holliday, Bruce, Quentin

UT Reimold

BN Gomez, Hudson (temporary starter until Figgins got eligibility)

Instead I'm now dead last in every offensive category except SBs. I've dumped Soto, Hudson & Gomez and picked up Matsui, and Pudge. I even held my nose and acquired Podsednik. My team is hitting .249 with only 39 RBI in 111 combined games.

I know it's early but this blows.

Other than Soto--who blows--it looks like you just have a bunch of slow starters.

With Beckham, Quentin, Bruce and Votto you have four guys who play in very good hitters parks, and once the weather warms their numbers should rise.

I'm a big fan of Votto. And so far, Dusty has been sending him on the basepaths.

I don't think Bruce will be the next Larry Walker as he was once projected. His anemia versus LH seems permanent. But spot starting him at home and against RH's should wring a decent season of stats.

No, middle of the pack.I grabbed Votto after I took Tex and even before any I took any OF's. I am sitting Tex through the Oakland series.
