HUGE swatch of end zone seats blocked off.  Is this normal for this stadium or what?  It looked like 20% of the stadium.

There aren't seats behind one of the end zones. That's the ramp up to the torch lighting area. There is a VIP tent at ground level instead.

Yeah, the stadium was built before football. Those seats would have zero view, they're far away and not facing the middle of the field. They're facing the turns of where the oval running track would be. So you'd spend the whole game with your head at a right angle looking over your shoulder. It's built for track and the Olympics, and whatever other sports were hot after WWI. 

I dont even know what stadium that is.  I thought they built a new one for the Rams.

LA Memorial. Built in 1923. The new stadium is still under construction. It should be ready by 2024. It would have opened sooner but it unexpectedly rained in LA after they dug up the hole and it was too muddy to work. We weren't expecting rain for like seven months so it set them behind.
