Official Plaxico Burress Thread (1 Viewer)

Oct 5 New York Giants WR Plaxico Burress did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 5. Burress is listed as questionable and should be available to play during Week 5.

Oct 5 Burress is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets because of an ankle injury.

Advice: Burress sprained his right ankle in early August in training camp and re-injured it against the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 16. He has been kept out of practice but has played in all four Giants games.

sorry...thats from KFFL & Stats

Didn't last week's thread show quotes from him and the team that he would practice sporadically for the next few weeks and be a "go" every Sunday? In case folks looking here today didn't see this stuff last week, I just pulled this from the blogger (links may not be alive anymore):

WR Burress Intends To Play

Associated Press - [Full Article]

Giants WR Plaxico Burress will continue practicing on a limited basis about one day a week and intends to play Sunday night against the Eagles. "When I feel good enough to go and practice, I'll practice. If I am sore, I'll have limited practice. I'll just gauge my soreness and manage it that way. My goal is to get to the point where it is bearable on Sunday," Burress said.

Specialist Confirms What WR Burress Already Knew

Giants.com - [Full Article]

In a statement from Giants VP of Medical Services Ronnie Barnes updating WR Plaxico Burress ankle injury, Barnes said that Dr. Robert Anderson "confirmed our findings, which is that Plaxico has a serious sprain to his right ankle." The team will continue its' current course of treatment, and will explore all options regarding the most appropriate shoes, orthotics and braces. "The best prescription for this injury is rest, and as a result, Plaxico's practice time for the immediate future will be limited," Barnes said. "For the time being, we will continue to evaluate Plaxico's injury on a day-to-day, week-to-week basis."

IOW, I expect Plex to play every single Sunday, regardless of what the injury report says.

Any news here???? I have to decide between Manning or Hasselbeck (steelers missing 3 key df players).
see above - listed as questionable or not, you should be able to count on him playing. In Plex' sitch (not practicing and playing on Sundays - as he has done every week so far), no news is good news.I expect you will get no "news" until minutes before gametime, if then. If you HAVE TO make a call, I recommend you make it as if Plex is playing.

If you are asking me, :thumbup:Plex will play exactly like he has played the last four weeks, IMO. The reason he is not practicing is so he can go Sunday to Sunday. He's living a veteran's dream season. All game-time, no practice.

(12:04 p.m. ET) Plaxico Burress (ankle) didn't practice all week, but he'll play Sunday vs. the Jets. This lingering ankle injury might catch up to him eventually, but so far he has been productive despite it. Continue to start him and hope he can eventually practice, oh, every now and then.

Brendan Roberts: (12:06 p.m. ET) Jets SS Erik Coleman (concussion) is inactive in Week 5. Eric Smith will start in his place. As one of the thumpers in the Jets' secondary, Coleman will be missed against the Giants' now-healthy offense.

Looks like a good start this week to with the Jets only good db not playing.

Oct 7 Burress is active for the Giants' game on Sunday despite not practicing this week because of an ankle injury.

Advice: Burress has been bothered by the ankle injury since early August, but it hasn't limited him so far.
