This thread is a great resource. What I'm trying to do here is distill it a bit to bring it a bit more relevance to fantasy drafters.

It would appear that owners might be able to mine value from just seeing who has risen up the depth charts. Justin Forsett and Ahmad Bradshaw immediately come to mind. So feel free to jump in here if you get wind of somebody climbing the charts. Please avoid putting players in here who were the starter last season.

I'll start.

Justin Forsett:

Sunday- 7:25 pm

The battle for the starting RB job figured to be one of the closest in camp, but Sunday's scrimmage made it look like Justin Forsett has a good lead.

For most of the scrimmage, he worked with the "ones" while Julius Jones played with "twos."
Ahmad Bradshaw: From the FBG daily email "New York Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw (feet, ankle) appears to be the team's starting running back, reports Paul Schwartz, of The New York Post. During almost every team period, the first play is a handoff to Bradshaw. He has seen about three times as many rushing attempts as Brandon Jacobs (knee), who is typically assumed the team's No. 1 back. Both players are coming off offseason surgery, so it isn't a matter of the team simply trying to keep Jacobs fresh. When asked about the starting lineup, head coach Tom Coughlin said, 'You guys are all hung up on that stuff. All I want is healthy bodies and depth. They'll all be utilized and, as you know, there are a lot of games to play.'

Jacoby Jones:

Coach Gary Kubiak reiterated that Kevin Walter and Jacoby Jones are going "head-to-head" for the No. 2 starting job in camp.

"Kevin's the starter; he's earned that right," said Kubiak. [but] we've got a heck of a player (Jones) pushing to be a starter in this league. We're putting them right down the middle. It's very competitive." It's one of the most important fantasy battles in the league this summer. If Jones can push Walter into the slot, he's among the best breakout candidates going.

:lmao:

Tony Moeaki just might be the opening day starter at TE for the chiefs.

TO goes from being a street FA to a #2 WR (or possibly a 1a WR?).

Tarvaris Jackson...should we keep our finger on the trigger with this guy?

Clay Harbor in Philly (if Celek gets injured).

Maurice Stovall has been getting snaps with the 1's recently due to Benn's inability to learn the playbook thus far.

For IDP's

Tramon Williams is running with the 1's due to Al Harris's injury. Should be IDP gold playing across from Charles Woodson!

Michael Johnson could be rosterable as a SLB in big play leagues.

For the Redskins....Joey Galloway remains the starter opposite of Santana Moss. His backup is Roydell Williams. Deep/big leagues may want to consider both (at end of draft) for the long run in 2010.
The fact that the Skins have Galloway and Roydell Williams sharing starting duties opposite Santana Moss is probably just to have a veteran presence on the offense while the "others" Devin Thomas included, get up to game speed. Don't forget, it's a whole new offense for everyone. The ones who will pick it up fastest are the veterans. I fully expect Thomas to be starting with Moss come week one. I just can't see Shanahan rolling out with Joey Galloway and/or Roydell Williams when the team leaves the tunnel for game one against Dallas. In Shanahan's own words - 'This is where we start. It is a starting point. It's surely not where we are gonna finish. It could be. There is gonna be a competition.'

Redskins first published depth chart

Roydell Williams and Anthony Armstrong have both looked good in camp, and consequently are 2nd team WR's now. It's anyone's guess whether Kelly or even Thomas makes the team, although Thomas is the primary kick returner so that should get him a spot unless someone else takes over KR duties. I don't think Galloway will begin the season as a starting WR.
