***Official Red Sox Delusion Thread*** (1 Viewer)

This is going to be fun.

For the record, my vitriol is rooted in what I feel is unnecessary attention paid to a mid-sized city with a middle tier baseball team. If the Red Sox new pitching savior played for Pittsburgh or Seattle, I wouldn't care in the slightest. I'm just angry that I'll have to read week after week of Peter King columns talking about how awesome Matsazuka is and how much Bill Belichek is smarter then everyone else on the planet. :D

I consume more internet in a day then most people in a year. Even drivel like Peter King makes it to my pallet.

I am born and raised in Boston and I will admit that there are a lot of Red Sox fans in the general Media. Good or bad they will always be in the spotlight the same way the Cubs and Yankees are.The Patriots are always in the media since 2001 for what I would think would be very obvious reasons. You could not find a Patriots fan if you were handing out 100 bills untill Kraft bought the team (Well except for a few ten thousand locals, incuding myself). Now they are media darlings, but they earned that right.

A White Sux fan defending the Red Sux? Why? I don't like either of these teams and enjoy when they fail. TIA.

Seems to be a vendetta against an entire city as opposed to just the Red Sox

Can't say I hate the Patriots.

I like Bill Simmons writing and the Celtics. I also like "Boston Baked Beans" and Sam Adams. And I have Boston speakers for my computer. :D

The season is roughly 8% over and the Red Sox are still on the outside looking in with regard to the playoffs.

RUNNING OUT OF TIME...

Maybe my sarcasm meter is down, but you guys think a little too highly of your teams, and that's not the first time I've seen Red Sox and Pats coined America's team around these parts. Plus, I'd hate my local teams if they were dubbed America's team.

but you guys think a little too highly of your teams,
How so? Should we think lowly of our squads? Should we NOT root for them?
and that's not the first time I've seen Red Sox and Pats coined America's team around these parts.
I'm pretty sure there weren't any sox or pats fans originating this term on this forum.

What wilked said... and glad to see you're one of those bandwagon fans who's loyalties shift based on stuff like media perception. Mr Happy would be proud :goodposting:

Looks like your guys sarcasm meter is down too. :fishy: Bandwagon fan? You obviously must be confused or think I'm someone else. Die hard Cleveland fan here (and PJ, that's why you are cool too :fishy: ).

Loving it. The bigger the lead, the more crushing it will be when Detroit owns Boston in the playoffs.

Also, Brad Lidge is no longer abailable. UR TOAST BOSTON!@!

I know we needed him because we don't have the best bullpen ERA in all of baseball. Did you get beat down in Boston at one point? You make no sense here and no sense in the Garnett thread.
Glad to see I have grounds for an ***Official Celtics Delusion Thread***

I like how this changed from 'Schilling = fat, Beckett = .500, Dice-K = teh suck' to 'DET will beat BOS in playoffs.

Wicked good save.

Schilling is indeed fat and Matsusaki is .500 in his last 10 and hardly looks worth 100 million. Beckett is the only one I'm outright wrong about, but we haven't had his annual blister yet so there is still time.

Matsuzaka is the real deal, he's worth the money they shelled out for him. He's still learning the league and I believe he will be even better his second season in the AL, just like Beckett improved this year. He's had a couple of tough losses in his last ten which could have easily flattered his record the other way if the Sox had given him any run support. So you got that one wrong tooSchilling is fat however.

Someone PM me when it's time for a :footsteps: smilie

Red Sox since the break: 16-12

Yankees since the break: 22-8

Net gain of 5.5 in avg. 29 games.

37 to go........ :yucky:

Angels look good, I'd be scurred of them in the playoffs. Sox have enough pitching to be a contendah when October rolls around though.
