Playoffs start a week early :goodposting:

Most football fans want to puke over the thought that one of these teams will host a playoff game. If it happens to be a 7-9 team, I think heads will explode.

I'm torn. I think Bradford is an exciting young player and I'd like to see how he'd do in a playoff spot.

On the other hand, I like the uproar that would occur if a 7-9 (especially one with, what, 9 double digit losses?) makes it. Would make up for the 1994 Baseball Strike that cost the awesome 10-below .500 at the time and sure to finish below .500 Texas Rangers a playoff spot.

I can't believe that's the game that NBC chose to pick up. Zero interest in seeing that game.
It's the only game with a "winner takes all" scenario. I couldn't imagine them taking any other game.
That's true and I guess it was decided before tonight's game. Bears/Packers seemed like the obvious pick but with tonight's result I guess it was a better choice because the Bears might not be playing for a win.Still I think either team is a one and done in the playoffs. But I guess anything could happen.

Rooting for the Seahawks for the hilarity of a 7-9 team, but hoping that whoever wins knocks off the Saints in the playoffs and goes on a decent run. NFC West solidarity, let's show the haters

While these are not the greatest teams around, it will have a playoff atmosphere since it is winner-take-all. I'm looking forward to it. :goodposting:

Problem is, Bears/Packers could be meaningless for Bears if Atlanta wins and Packers if Bucs and Giants lose. This really was the only viable option. I'm sure the league put some pressure on too since they are trying to make sure there's as little sitting starters as possible. Not sure that it was the schedule changes, but having only the Pats and Eagles locked into their seeds going into the final week makes for a much more exciting final week than I can remember in a while.
