***Official Week 1 Wagering Thread*** (1 Viewer)

For the prop fans:TJ Houshmandzadeh (Seahawks) Will He Score a Touchdown - Must Play - (NO -250)-He's with the Ravens, but expected to play.Brandon Lloyd (Broncos) Will He Score a Touchdown - Must Play (NO -260)-A lot to lay out but I don't think Lloyd gets a TD even against a weak Jags D. He's had 2 TD's total in the last 4 years.Chris Johnson (Titans) Will He Score a Touchdown - Must Play (YES -300)- Another huge amount to lay but barring injury he gets a TD against the Raiders.
You play with odds like that you are going to get burned
I agree, I wouldn't make the bet on CJ again and knowing how well Lloyd is playing I wouldn't do it again either. However, I was 5 for 5 this weekend (though there was no action on Housh). The other two were Pope Under 1.5 Receptions (-140) and Flacco Under 1.5 TD's (-160).

Alot of people taking road favorites in this thread. While you might get lucky every once in a while doing this, you will be a loser by years end if you make a habit of it.After some thought, my favorite game of this week is the Chiefs. I like them to win this game outright at home against the Chargers.
Those who took road favorites this week were reminded why you just dont do it, expecially within the division. Only the Dolphins covered, and the only reason they did was because the Bills took a safety at the end of the game for some reason i will never understand.Of course the only game i lost this week was taking a road favorite going with Indy(although it was basically a pick). Fortunetly i still went 3-1 Sunday, and unloaded all my wiinings on the Chiefs money line Monday night.

It's hard not to when you think you have a winner. Been doing this gambling thing for too many years... and I tell myself never to bet a road favorite, repeatedly, no matter the teams involved. Do I listen?? Nah, silly me took the 9ers to get smoked on Sunday, and GB , who was trying real hard to blow their cover. I guess it takes an ### spanking to really drive home this point. Lesson learned, again, went with Bal and Und last night and stayed faaaaaar away from SD. ;) for the final tally for the week. At least we came out on top after ignoring our simple rules!

I fell victim to the same thing with Atlanta :(

I had Texans and Steelers on the Money Line this week.Adding Ravens tonight on the ML
Nice... Ravens are a great bet tonight. Early Week 2 Lines:Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010Kansas City Chiefs at Cleveland Browns (-3 +110)Buffalo Bills at Green Bay Packers (-13.5)Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals (PICK)Pittsburgh Steelers at Tennessee Titans (-5)Philadelphia Eagles (XX QB) at Detroit LionsChicago Bears at Dallas Cowboys (-9)Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers (XX QB)Arizona Cardinals at Atlanta Falcons (-7)Miami Dolphins at Minnesota Vikings (-4.5)St. Louis Rams at Oakland Raiders (-4)Seattle Seahawks at Denver Broncos (-3.5)Houston Texans (-3 EV) at Washington RedskinsJacksonville Jaguars at San Diego Chargers (-7.5)New England Patriots at New York Jets (-1)New York Giants at Indianapolis Colts (-6)Monday, Sept. 20, 2010New Orleans Saints (-4) at San Francisco 49ersThoughts?New Orleans, New England, and Dallas stand out as a nice 3 team teaser.
Two bets to make this weekend based on the early lines:GB -13.5 v. Buffalo - Buffalo is that bad, on the road, and GB is that good. No Ryan Grant could mean they actually push the pass more and cover the number easier. Two team 6.5 point teaser:Dallas -2.5 v. Chicago - Chicago almost lost at home to Detroit w/o Stafford, no way do they win on the road against a steaming Cowboys teamAtl -.5 v. Arizona - You can get this down to a pick'em, really?!!? How does Vegas expect to make money when they allow you to get the Falcons at home in a pick'em against bad Cards team?
