***OFFICIAL*** WHITE SOX THREAD (3 Viewers)

At least we ain't the Cubbies! :lmao: Our team stinks right now though. I'm not sure what to make of them, one day its the offense, next day the pitching, today the brutal defense in the 9th. I'm not ready to jump off the ledge yet, but if we are 10 or more back by mid to late June it is ova. The team will show falshes of greatness for a few games and then be really bad for the next few. I love the Sox, but this team right now is a shell of its former self. It is what it is I guess. :lmao:

It is over the way I see it. Please white flag this team. Get rid of Kenny Williams and bring in Steve Stone now. This team has no heart. They are collecting a check. This is the same team from last year- sleep walking thru the season....Yes two months inAL EAST- BoSoxAL CENTRAL- The TribeAL West- The AngelsWC- The TigersLong year for everyone else....
Dear god are you a windsock. How many times are you going to jump on and off the 2007 bandwagon?
Monster has been pretty consistant in showing his disgust for this team, IMO.He was bashing them (in early May) when I asked for your guys thoughts on dismantling this team come July. Again, you definitely have some moveable parts. If Kenny sits on this team come July and you guys are in 4th, it's going to be a big mistake.

^I agree and it takes an outsider to see this. For a team that went all the way two years ago we have fallen and we really do not have the likes of Rowand and Everett in the starting lineup. These guys made that big of a difference? They are just crucifying this team up and down the radio talk shows. There is a genuine disgust for the Sox right now because of the lackluster effort.

I am starting to think that the white flag will need to go up too. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see them turn it around but I just don't see it at this point.

Add Thome to that list and maybe Pods if he comes back healthy. It is a real mess and I hope that they can turn it around as well.

I think Dye would be a welcome addition to the Indians. We need a right handed big stick OF. Only problem is the Sox would try to kill Shapiro in the deal and Shapiro won't bend over for anything.

He only makes $7.5M, and the Indians saved $5M when Foulke decided not to ride on the DL all year. Makes sense to me if the price is right.

Best part of this season so far... Owens and Sweeney getting called up. Each of these guys are showing that they belong up in the bigs. :confused:

F'in' bullpen does it again :lmao:
I was actually hoping they would win so Jenks would get a save for my fantasy squad. I feel ya on the bullpen issue. Believe me, I do. White Sox have scored more than 100 less runs than the Tigers and are really fortunate to even be near .500. Still a lot of baseball to be played and this team could get hot. The starting pitching has been very, very good so at least you have that going for you.**Disclaimer-I hope the White Sox lose the rest of their games unless they are playing the Twins, Red Sux, or Indians. :thumbup:

Great outing from Garland tonight giving up a run in the first then shutting down the Yankees for the next 7 innings.

With a 5 run lead going into the 9th, I hope Ozzie lets at least one of these new bullpen guys have a chance to get their feet wet tonight.

Everytime I see any member of the bullpen come into the game not named Bobby Jenks this is me ---------------------------------------------> :scared:

Well let's review what going on with the White Sox since they began their trip thru the easy part of their schedule on May 25th.

1. They opened by drawing 3 games with the Devil Rays. Unfortunately, one game was rained out. So it became a two-game series, and you always expect a split, and that's what you got.

2. The first 5 games of an extended soft part of the schedule always gets an asterisk, as I've noticed over the years that it seems to take one full trip thru a rotation before the effects of an easy schedule shows up. The first 5 games includes getting swept in 3 at the Twins.

3. After that, they dropped 3 of 4 to the Blue Jays. I would have expected a split there.

4. Currently they have 4 games with the Yankees. Between the Blue Jays and Yankees, I'd expect the White Sox to split one series and win another.

I'll set down a pace car for June:

TOR: 2-1 1-2 -1

NYY: 3-1

HOU: 2-1

@PHI: 1-2

@PIT: 2-1

FLA: 2-1

CUBS: 3-0

@TBB: 3-1

@KC: 2-0

Pace car for June record: 20-8

That would leave them at 44-33.

Of course they are one game behind so that currently has them at 19-9 and 42-34, unless they pick up a game somewhere.

BGP, I could just as easily see them underachieve as they have for the last 8 baseball months.
Well, from a logical point of view, if you assume these White Sox are a .500 team as some do, then if they play a month and a half of games against losing clubs, they should look a lot better than a .500 team when that stretch of games is over. If you assume they are a bit better than that, then they should do extremely well here.

If you expect the White Sox to play losing clubs and get the snot beat out of them, then its logical to assume that you think this is a 100-loss club.

My point is just as logical as yours. There are plenty of .500 teams that are just flat out inconsistant no matter who they play. That's why they are .500. Not just because they beat up on bad teams and get crushed by good teams.

They might win 2 of those series.... might.

Well for example let's take a look at 2007 Phillies. They opened 2007 at 3-9. Then over the next 3 weeks, they played some pretty crappy teams and went 8-4. That wasn't being inconsistent no matter who they play. They found a small soft patch in the schedule and starting winning.

Suggesting the Sox go 11-2 vs the Yanks, Cubs, Rays and Royals is a bit optimistic if you ask me. I'm excited for Sox baseball now! :moneybag:

You are wasting your time. This team has a revolving door with AAA. KC is going to pass them up.

Bring back Sweeney, and let him, Fields, and Owens play out the rest of the season. Nothing to lose at this point.

Dump some guys at the All Star break and start over.

I agree with this. How much worse can it be if those three end up hitting .200 vs the others in the lineup hitting .230 ?

0-3 so far, I guess I was being generous. :popcorn:

Is Kenny Williams going to get a free pass for this mess? Hey Kenny do the right thing and break this up. It is pathetic!
:confused: Let the firesale begin. On Sunday night, Miller and Morgan were discussing Andruw Jones coming to the White Sox. Please don't. Seriously. :confused:
I agree. Jones would fit in well w the rest of these underachievers. We need to trade to replenish the AAA guys that need to come on up.....

He would be a great fit in the order. Homerun or noting.

True... his .208 average would be a great addition. :P

The best part is the Sox brass drafted all their kids. This is going to be like that 85 Bears team- we should have won more but we just went right into the tank.....
