where are the rules for this one? maybe I can win 70 games?
I think the two remaining contenders are:One player per MLB team: player pool 1977?-2009 Each team must end the draft with player seasons representing 25 different MLB franchises. All time leeg w/ no Hall of Famers: player pool 1893-present excluding all members of the Hall of Fame and players ineligible for Hall of Fame election (MLB banned list, active players, players who retired in 2004 or later.)

All time leeg minus hall of famers would be the more intriguing one, but for the sake of an extreme lack of time to research, I'm voting 1977-present, 1 player per team.

Will play either, but this one is my vote.

In this context there’s no disrespect

So when I bust my rhyme you break your necks

We got 5 minutes for us to disconnect

From all intellect and the let rhythm effect

To lose the inhibition, follow your intuition

Free your inner soul and break away from tradition

Cause when we beat out, girl it’s pulling without

You wouldn’t believe how we wil' #### out!

Burn it til it’s burned out

Turn it til it’s turned out

Actin' up from north ,west, east, south

Everybody! (Yeah?)

Everybody! (Yeah?)

Let's get into it! (Yeah!)

Get stupid(Come on!)

Get it started! (Come on!)

Get it started! (Yeah!)

Get it started!

Let’s get it started ha!

Let’s get it started in here!

Let’s get it started ha!

Let’s get it started in here!

Honestly, I have zero desire to do this 1977-present one player per team non-sense. If we can't have the All-Rookie League (best idea), I'll vote for the All-Sim Fish league.

If anybody feels really strongly about any format other than the Hall of Very Good, now's the time to make your case.

We're still two teams short. If we can't fill the league on Monday, we should open it up for people to draft two teams.

Can do two if needed.

Which dreams indeed are ambition, for the verysubstance of the ambitious is merely the shadow of a dream.

Since this is the HOTVG, I think we should talk about what to do with Mitchell Report/other steriod guys. I say no, but don't care either way. The big one is McGwire, who I definitely think should be excluded since he'd be in already without the Roids stuff, but there are 5-6 other useful guys in the Mitchell report

I don't think we should get into being judge and jury on suspected cheaters. McGwire is a first rounder but I don't think he's such a huge outlier that he'd be a clear cut 1.01.If we're going to blacklist players who aren't on the MLB banned list, we'd have to get consensus on them before the draft starts.I consider Gary Peters a cheat and scoundrel of the highest order and won't participate in this league unless he's banned.

We could always push back the last-season cut-off to 2001 or 2000 or 1999 or whatever gets us back far enough not to have to deal with the issue.

Canseco retired in 2001, Brady Anderson in 2002. The problem with an arbitrary cutoff date is that it eliminates some presumably innocent players from the draft pool. The more I think about it, I think the owner blacklist option has some merit. It could eliminate guys like McGwire who seemingly benefit unfairly from the eligibility rules, as well as some other one off outlier seasons (e.g. N*rm C*sh). There's also untapped schtick potential to consider.

I'm opposed to any blacklisting of players beyond the current criteria.

The thing I like least about this format is that we're already taking out the greatest players and leaving the first few rounds full of the all-time biggest SimFish. The controversial guys are the ones who could make for interesting discussion. In fact, the more I think about I'd almost like to include Rose, Shoeless Joe, Cicotte, etc.

So whats the deal here since its not in the first post and some of us have grown up and gotten well, lives (and busy jobs) since first starting this WIS crusade some years back?

No HoFers and no players that are not yet eligible? That the lowdown?

Pretty much, except we're finding new ways to complicate things.
