That was a fun game. Yankees win game three but Byrd has had a nice season and game 4 is up in the air. I'll stick with my original prediction in this series.
So he can pitch as long as there's no pressure?they are the only reason joba sucked ###. nothing to do with pressure.Anybody see all those gnats?![]()
So I guess there was no pressure in the 7th inning with runners on 1st and 2nd and 1 out. Please

yankee fans are idiot douchebagsHTHWow Yankee forums already jumping off the ARod bandwagon. These people sicken me. All year they said how much they loved him and they didnt care how he did in the playoffs cuz they wouldnt be in the playoffs without ARod and now they are already bashing him for 1 bad game.Sickening.

But that's what you're dealing with in Yankeeville. Part of the reason I hate them with venom.I really dont get what youre trying to say. There was pressure in the 7th inning and Joba dominated. There was pressure in the 8th inning and Joba wilted. Im willing to give him a pass and say the bugs affected him more than the other pitchers for whatever reason before I say the kid cant handle the pressure of the playoffs. Just like the national media, this thread will continue on for the night as All Yankees All the Time (maybe until some of my cohorts come home...#### YA WADE AND TEC AND SUMMER AND SERVO AND bgp
).SEE YA.Seriously this Yankees team has like three times the payroll as the Indians and twice as much as everyone but the Red Six. There is no excuse.bottomline, yanks bullpen sucks, yanks used to win these games, now they cant. Yanks need to resign ARod and hope Joba and Hughes develop into studs and hope they can get some bullpen pieces.

I should start a list of the prognogs that said the Yank bullpen edged the Tribe. What are these people thinking? They are brainwashed cuz it's ny.bottomline, yanks bullpen sucks, yanks used to win these games, now they cant. Yanks need to resign ARod and hope Joba and Hughes develop into studs and hope they can get some bullpen pieces.
How in the hell does a team with the resources of the mighty NY Yankees not have a lefty in the bullpen? How is that possible. A team without a lefty reliever in the playoffs.....that has to be unheard of
Cashman
for some strange reason torre kept a slightly effective Villone off the roster and kept Veras and Ohlendorf over himHow in the hell does a team with the resources of the mighty NY Yankees not have a lefty in the bullpen? How is that possible. Im not sure who said that as I certainly did not. Yanks bullpen has been bad all year outside of the Joba and Mo.I should start a list of the prognogs that said the Yank bullpen edged the Tribe. What are these people thinking? They are brainwashed cuz it's ny.bottomline, yanks bullpen sucks, yanks used to win these games, now they cant. Wow. They lost 2 games to a great team, a team that is probably better than them. No reason to go ape####. The series is still not over. I think this series goes 5 although I dont think theyd win a game 5 in Cle.I really don't want this "bug excuse" to gain traction. I mean, as a fan, you scratch you head and wonder what the #### is going on with that, but there are lots of reasons why they lost and lots of reasons why they won, and I'm looking right at the Father of Frito head behind the dish. Those were "wild pitches" technically, but both balls that if stone glove drops to his knees on don't get past him. Cleveland has the mojo right now, Carmona was simply dominant, their pen was stout and they got the runs when it counted, but Posada's glove work, man. They were lucky to survive his 3rd strike passed ball. And Torre.I've defended him quite often, even in the downstretch this season. But man, maybe it is time to put some new blood in there. The fact that Matsui even started this game, never mind flailed endlessly throughout it(pinch hit Duncan in the 11th against Perez leading off the inning???). It might be time to go.And the same goes for A-Rod. Not because he's not a great player and he might turn this around, but this will ALWAYS be story. It'll be the story all next year, he'll face the same buildup, he'll choke the handle again, and he's like that fun, good girlfriend you have that you know you can't, or shouldn't marry. There is just something not there to make it all there. Thats the best analogy I can make for A-Rod right now. He'll go on and be great somewhere else, maybe even build on this year, but I wouldn't bend over backwards to keep this guy around. You can say he's one guy on the team, but when that one guy wants to make 35 millon a season, he wears the bullseye and he answers the questions. These two are a big part of the 2004 hangover and its time to cut the chord on these two. There is a great new base to build on, these two are just not going to be productive parts of it.
Take the F-ing A-Rod blinders off. I want the guy to succeed, but when something isn't working, you can keep trying to prove it wrong, or you can correct it. I'm honestly shocked that he's doing it again, I thought he had really straightened things out, and if he was having good ABs, I'd live easily with the hitless streaks. But its clear that the postseason failures are back in his head. You are never out of any series in any sport until you lose a game at home, but unfortunately, if they drop that one at home now, they can stay there. The season hangs on a 45 year old man with a bad hamstring. If they throw a guy who wasn't in the rotation because of ineffectiveness after Labor Day. They right now just look like the teams they used to beat. Blowing 8th inning leads, poor situational hitting, mental lapses. You can have faith all you want, I wish I shared it. Mine is dead. It died in 2004. The vibe is bad come postseason here, its time for a new one.Wow. They lost 2 games to a great team, a team that is probably better than them. No reason to go ape####. Hes the best player in baseball, yanks wouldnt be here without him, i have little doubt he will get some big hits for them in games 3 and 4.I mean, are you watching the games? Why are people going to piss and moan? If Sabathia had done yesterday what Carmona did today, no one would have griped. Cy young candidate ace shuts you down at home, tip your hat. It didn't break like that. He walked 4 lefties all season and walks 4 lefties yesterday, 2 lefties went deep after 3 homered off him all season. They got to their ace, but the rest didn't come together.Todays game, you have a lead in the 8th inning with the shutdown man of the present and future on your team on the hill with the greatest closer ever backing him up. You did manage a run against a guy with no-hit stuff and you give that run back without the benefit of a hit. And then you don't make a loud out the rest of the way to challenge? These were two brutal losses that they could have picked up wins in. Its playoff baseball, both teams are there to win, fine I get it. But you have to think about getting a split of two tough games. Two losses like that where little things ate them alive and you wonder why people are questioning?I really dont understand why people are gonna ##### and moan if we lose this series. I guess the frustration of some of the previous Yankees teams carries over but this is a good Cle team. Yanks are probably the 4th or at least 3rd best team in the playoffs this year. I never thought this series would be easy and its not over yet.

I did indeed, but christ almighty, I feel like I see more if you "still have faith" in Clemens or A-Rod. What rationale are you using other than blind optimism. If I told you in both games you'd have:-Sabathia out of the game in the 5th with 3 runs and 6 walks and 114 pitches-6 outs away from a win with a rested Joba and MoAnd you go 0-2 in those games? But you have confidence in a team that's gone 2-12 in its last 14 games in the postseason.Havent you gone to the gym in the middle of both games?I mean, are you watching the games?I really dont understand why people are gonna ##### and moan if we lose this series. They've been outplayed in both games. A few extra Yankee hits in game 1 probably means nothing and a few extra Tribe hits tonight could have meant a replay of game 1. Yanks didn't threaten at all tonight. You've got 8 hits in 20 innings.I mean, are you watching the games? Why are people going to piss and moan? I'd take Girardi.I don't think you can say they got outplayed tonight. Cleveland won, but they scored their first run on two wild pitches and without benefit of a hit. They won, tip your hat, but I wouldn't say losing a game 2-1 in extra innings is some demonstrative statement on the tribe being that much better. They've been outplayed in both games. No, its not an excuse for this guy anymore. Great hitters don't get shut down by great pitchers consistently. Great hitters don't take the halo with 3 k's in a must win game. They just don't year in and year out. If that's great, let him be great somewhere else and lets keep turning over the culture of this team.Meh.... First things first...are you Yankee fans like this all the time? Listening to that junk for 162 games would make my butt tired. For the love of Pete, YOU HAVE 26 FREAKING WORLD TITLES -- we have two and none since 1948. In one sense, I'm just glad to be here after a six year absense; you guys are ready to riot after not WINNING in seven years. I've been a Tribe fan since 1968 and cried myself to sleep when they lost the '97 series. Mind you, I'm still dreaming of a WS title so I can max out my savings buying gear and stuff and bawl my eyes out in sheer joy and die a happy man. All I'm asking for is a tad bit of perspective and realize how bloody wonderful you guys have it.
you guys. No shame in that. Yeah, Cleveland's been on that end of the stick more than I would like to remember, but when you lose straight up best man against best man...take away some pride in knowing you gave your best even if you lost. I mean, tonight's game is one to remember on both sides.
BELIEVE ME --- the Yankees organization made a good deal of money on their $300 million investment. Even if they don't win, you can sleep well at night knowing that the money certainly didn't go down the tubes.Finless said:$300 Million down the tubes
oof
I don't think anyone is saying it's all A-Rod's fault. But as the best player and hitter on the team, you can't honestly put as much blame on Doug Mientkiewicz, Posada, and Damon as you do on A-Rod. That's why he gets recognition as the best player. You expect some of those other guys to fail more often than not. A-Rod hit 50+ HR and drove in 150+ and should win the MVP going away. So fans expect him to produce in run-producing moments in the playoffs like, oh I don't know...Manny Ramirez? The Yankees, as a team, have 8 hits in 20 innings this series so far. But yeah, it is all A-Rod's fault. Yep, that makes sense.![]()
