Call me wacky, but I expect this to be a game where Dallas' 3rd WR shines. So quickly we forget........

I think he goes top 10 in both this week. 7/115/2

Why pick such a huge stat line? There's a pretty good chance that no WR finishes with those numbers this week. Plus, it's Ogletree.

You sir, are wacky. So quickly we forget...that Ogeltree put up hugs stats while Witten and Austin were still coming back from injury and hadn't played all preseason. They're both back now. Ogeltree is now the 4th receiving option in Dallas.Top 10? No. Top 30 might be stretch. Sorry - I just don't see it, barring a mircale. Prayers sent. Gl, Gb.

If he breaks top 30 this week I'll eat my shoe. The match-up is irrelevant, there's no way he's a mid range WR3 when he's 5th in line for targets.

Oh great - now I'm kinda hoping he does come it a WR29. Youtube, then? Post a link in the FFA by Tuesday. TIA. ;)

YOU are WACKYor maybe you were smoking wacky, but I hope you are not betting your FF team's on this cuz I don't think you are in any of my leagues

My reasoning is part gut, part the Tampa D, part Witten's dropping balls and still being dinged.

Cover two tends to restrict the 1 and 2 WRs. Often a TE becomes the target of choice, but, here, Witten maybe not be 100% with the ribs. Add in the fact that Ogletree has been a beast through preseason and when given a chance this season (he hasn't dropped a pass - the only incomplete he knocked away from a defender).

Add it up with last weeks poor performance and I see big things for Ogletree.

Wacky, Wacky, Wacky.

And I am also probably the only person who started Ogletree week 1 and then sat him last week.......

How do you like your shoe?

Well, it's hard to argue with that track record. You should probably stop wasting your time with Fantasy Football and start putting some dough on the line sports betting. There's BIG money to be made there if you can be right only 65% of the time. I can't imagine how rich you'll be batting a thousand. And Tampa's defense isn't as bad as the fantasy numbers look. They fell apart in the 4th quarter last week, but they aren't a cake matchup.

Garrett was asked Thursday if he expects more out of Bryant, and replied that it's all relative.

" ... we believe in our offensive football team, and we believe you have to be able to use all the weapons at our disposal and attack different ways."

"You can find something bad in our offense every week. Dez catches 10, what happened to [Kevin] Ogletree? That's a philosophy you can take, but our philosophy is everyone has a role, and everyone can do their job to the best of their ability. The quarterbacks throws to the right guy, and let's keep going on. Whoever the right guy to make the play at the time, he's got to make the play."

OK I may be :fishing: a little. 2 TDs may be high. But I do think Ogletree will be featured early to try to open up coverage for Bryant and Austin. Witten dropped alot of balls last week. I think Ogletree will have an expanded role.

Add in first home game of the season.....I am will to bet the Cowboys will play well on offense. We will see soon enough. At least I am putting it out there!

Hi Wacky, nice to meet you. My name is Shawn. (Edited because I can't spell)

I like your thinking outside the box but, truth be told, the more difficult the passing matchup, the more I like Ogletree. Tampa ain't it. He's actually got a better shot at your stat-line on MNF next week against the Bears.

Here’s why Dez Bryant will explode against the Bucs - From Jonathan Bales of the Dallas Cowboys Times jonathan@thedctimes.com

Last Sunday, Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks torched Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib for 10 receptions, 199 yards, and a touchdown. Talib shadowed Nicks all over the field, playing press coverage on almost every snap.

A few hours later in Seattle, Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was held to 17 yards on three catches. Like the Bucs, the Seahawks played press coverage very often. Cornerbacks Brandon Browner and Richard Sherman frustrated Bryant from the outset, using their long arms to disrupt Bryant’s routes off of the line.

I just re-watched every offensive play for the Giants and Cowboys in Week 2, trying to figure out what Nicks did to succeed against press coverage that Bryant could not. The most obvious difference I saw had nothing to do with the receivers, but rather the cornerbacks; Talib is simply not as effective as Browner or Sherman in press coverage. Browner and Sherman, listed at 6’4’’ and 6’3’’ respectively, have a much easier time getting their hands on receivers than Talib, who is listed at 6’1’’ but is probably closer to an even six feet.

This Sunday, I think you’ll see Talib shadow Bryant. Bryant is very, very similar to Nicks as a receiver, and he’ll likely see the same press coverage that Nicks did. Like Nicks, I think Bryant is going to explode against Talib. Let me show you why. . .

It’s always possible the Bucs will have a different mentality on Sunday, pressing less frequently or mixing up their coverage. I really like the matchup for Dez Bryant, however, regardless of what the Bucs do.

With the way Bryant struggled with the press last week, you have to think the Bucs will try it again. If they place cornerback Eric Wright (5’10’’) on Bryant, he’ll eat him alive. If Talib shadows Bryant and Tampa Bay puts Wright on the quicker Austin, as I expect, the Cowboys could very well have two mismatches on their hands.

Wright and Talib, both lacking the length of Seattle’s cornerbacks, are going to miss on their jams at some point. I’m confident that both Austin and Bryant will be able to exploit that for multiple big gains down the sideline.

dez is like nicks only not nearly as good. hes also got issues running the right routes and is not the number one option in the passing game. it will take more than some Dallas homer to convince me hes not an overrated wr

I don't think Tampa will be playing much man-to-man (since their base coverage remains a Cover-2) and I also expect them to roll coverage towards Dez (which may be the other part of the equation you are forgetting about how other teams are playing Dez).

I expect Dez to continue to get some short passes in this game, but I expect him to see the toughest coverage. I also see both RBs struggling. I am saying that for this game Austin and Ogletree will be featured.

At least I put it out there BEFORE a guy does something. And I want to point out against the vast majority of SP thinking. Well see.

Did you know that Romo and Ogletree were working out together all summer? Truth.

:)

DoubleD - How long have you seen me post in here? I'm glad you didn't direct that statement at me b/s you show know I don't care whether I own a guy or not. Why would I? I have a bunch of teams. You know its all about value.

See you after the game to either eat my crow or just crow.

I must have been thinking as if Dallas was trying to win the game.

Crow tastes delicious. I am, however, losing faith in the Cowboys.

Actually would have had a TD if he doesn't slip on the REF's HAT! Haha!

He still has a chance. They are starting to throw to him.

5 catches for 57 yards.

Not a terrible game for Ogletree. No need for a dedicated thread, but not bad for a waiver caliber fantasy player.
