Well if you had Newton I could see it but guys who played Tebow, Romo and even Stafford over him may be pulling a "Willie Loman" this morning.

Anybody have the guts to tell us of your horror stories? Perhaps in service to providing a cautionary tale?

Never considered benching him... but I did last season when he was coming back from a concussion. Josh Freeman saved my bacon.

In the Romo thread, there are a lot of smug people who are claiming that those who benched Romo should have been able to see into the future and bench him. I guess those same people will be in here claiming that anyone who benched Rodgers is an idiot.

The answer, in my opinion, is that if either guy was your stud QB that got you to the playoffs, you should have started them.

This has nothing to do with Newton. I will fess up that I wasn't paying attention to the Cowboys situation in regards to the Giants. I was clueless that the Cowboys were in a situation that if the Giants won it meant anything. So I started Romo with confidence and got a zero, I could have played Matt Moore. I am up by 3 points and the other team has Gonzo. I will lose $300 for my ignorance of not watching any NFL news all week.

Started Stafford over him (3pts per TD) and would do it again in a heartbeat. Had San Fran lost or Chicago played even a little defense, it would have been the right call.

Gotta go with the guy with the most to gain.

Edited to add, Rodgers beat Stafford by 2.8 points, so pretty close to a push.

I think it would have taken an idiot to bench Rodgers. Why would anyone have done so?

Because they had Stafford.

So bench the #1 QB...a guy who has almost 100 points more than Stafford...yup, seems like a great decision.

Great analysis  You get points in your league for points scored to date, eh. Neato

I benched him for Stafford. I hope those six points difference (by our scoring criteria), don't come back to bite me. My opponent has Brees going tonight.

Same here- not having the luxury of knowing the outcome of the SF game, starting Stafford was the correct call IMO.

Nope...but with a guy like Rodgers...the odds are he is #1 for a reason...and will put up the points...as he did.

If you bench Rodgers in your Championship game and lose, you deserve to lose. It's like people talking about benching Ray Rice vs. the Steelers in week #1.

:lmao:

Started Newton over Rodgers and lost the game by 0.86 points...

Rodgers put up 1.78pts more than Newton...

*Always* start your studs....

This. Last thing I expected was fr romo to sit. Tebow and his corresponding 19 points ony bench would have netted me my 2nd championship in a very competitive big money league. Was the difference between $2000 and $1000

Why on earth would ANYONE bench Rodgers??? Geez that's just asking for a loss. Sure, you might have gotten lucky this year, but that kind of thinking is going to get you beat more often than not.

B/c McCarthy was openly talking about resting his starters after losing Jennings.

One guy in our Super Bowl benched Rodgers for Romo. A little karma working against him there as he gloated when he won in the semi-final.
