Lets say mcfadden is lost for the year during the first game of preseason. What happens to michael bushs value? Where would his adp fall after the 3rd preseason game?

He'd skyrocket up to Joseph Addai/Ricky Williams/Felix Jones territory to me.
They could keep the defense off the field with a good ground attack. Ricky is lower than Bush right now.PPR ADP17. McCoy, LeSean PHI RB 38.13 13 96 20020. Forte, Matt CHI RB 47.49 4 112 20021. Jones, Felix DAL RB 51.91 22 191 19723. Addai, Joseph IND RB 55.33 5 163 20133. McFadden, Darren OAK RB 97.17 56 200 19136. Bush, Michael OAK RB 105.57 34 238 19037. Williams, Ricky MIA RB 112.03 28 357 195

He'd be in my top 15 RBs.
Already in my top 15. I don't believe that McFadden will be a serious threat to Bush. Hue Jackson will use M. Bush like R. Rice back in Baltimore. McFadden will be like W. McGahee. Finally having a respectable QB and removing Tom Cable from playcalling will open the playbook. Once Bush finds some early success, I think Bush is featured more going into a possible playoff run. ADP around Ricky Williams? LOL.

i agreeBush is already up there on my list.....Mcfadden been had his chance.....and bush showed flashes of what he can do last yeari will draft him as my #4 rb, just like i did ray rice last year.....sit back and watch the same outcome

I don't know about this, but I like Bush a lot and will surely have him in a lot of leagues this year. I think he'll end up with the bulk of the carries and TDs of the Oakland RBs this year. He's just a better between the tackles player than McFadden, though McFadden will be used a decent amount.

So he'll use the more brittle back who's smaller, doesn't take contact as well, and is a great deal faster to pound the ball in short yardage and use the slower, bigger back as the pass-catching speed back? Sure, makes sense...

That's a fair point to argue. I realize that McGahee was more of short yardage back early last year, but later was more of a changeup type back IIRC. That's what I was comparing McFadden to. Maybe another comparison is P. Thomas/R. Bush. But even McFadden hasn't done enough to be compared to R. Bush. It is definitely a make or break year for DMC. But in any case, still very bullish on M. Bush.

Since we are going hypothetical, if McFadden is out for the season, Bush becomes a high-end RB2 in my opinion. Two games against the Chargers, Chiefs and Broncos, and other games against the Titans, Colts, Rams and Seahawks set up for a nice schedule. Inexperienced WRs and a new QB means they will rely on the run. If McFadden were to truly go down in the first preseason game, you would see the Bush hype BLOW-UP and those who have their draft the weekend prior to the season opener would see someone in their league take Bush in the 3rd round.
