I missed the Henley thread also, but I’ll agree with the OP’s take on Sting and Henley.

I think at this point people more remember Sting’s comments about tantric sex than any songs from his solo career.

He's a bit of an oddity. He went from a kind of edgy band with a truly unique sound, to middle age safe mayonnaise in like, one album. 

I missed the meeting where everyone decided to not like him, but I don't think I've heard any of his solo stuff in literally 20 years. Looking at his discography, make that 30 years.

Could never dislike him because The Police, but his solo career doesn't interest me. Same way I cannot get into Coldplay. These dudes have more feelings than I do.
