OMEGA Draft Analysis (1 Viewer)

Unlucky

Phenom
Here's the high and low for each player from Sunday's OMEGA 10 drafts. There were 6 simultaneous drafts, each comprised of 12 teams. Scoring uses Phenoms FF's Bonus scoring, which gives 1 PPR, 5 pts for TD passes, 6 for rush/rec TDs, 1/25 yds pass, 1/10 rush/rec, and a 3 pt. bonus for a 300/100 yd game. Defenses also score well for points and yards allowed, making them more valuable and predictable than most leagues. Starting lineup of: 1/2/3/1/1/1

Shameless plug: There are still spots available in next Sunday's OMEGA 20 league. $50 can win you $1315!

Akers, David PHI PK 58 Wow, there could be some money made in these leagues.

I took D.Davis at 69.

After I locked up Tiki and Dunn I decided that he was worth the risk in this format to try for the homerun. (we get .5 per RB reception) Actually Joffer taking Rhodes at 67 made my choice all the easier, as he was the other consideration.

However, I did made the mistake of taking Morencey right after. When I took DD I knew I wanted him and just got a little bit of an itchy trigger finger.

Oh well...now I just hope it isn't Lundy that gets the bulk of the action, and with Tiki and Dunn I'll get a chance to see how this shakes out.

Davis, Domanick HOU RB 15 69

note: there is no trading in these leagues. so, you take Dom Davis in rounds 2 or 3 and you're stuck with him.he slid VERY far in my draft (pick 69) - i was getting close to picking him up but I went rb-rb-rb and needed wr help badly.
that's my league too. were you picking 8th? if yes, you got a STEAL with Lamont Jordan falling to 2.05. still can't believe that happened.

yeah, all that mocking for nothing. i was planning to go something like Rudi / Fitzgerald - and ended up with Portis / Jordan ... pleasant surprise but i ended up missing betts AND marion barber down the line (jj in the 3rd). i'm unhappy with my WRs cuz my number 1 is andre johnson :bag: you were the one who stole donald driver from me! i was targeting him in the 4th =(

I went WR,WR at the beginning for the first time in my life. It killed me to do it, I'm a RB guy. I just felt like I had to with the 12th and 13th picks. I thought hard about Bush, but went with Holt and Fitz. I think it turned out well. I ended up with J Lewis, J Jones (steal), C. Brown, F Taylor, and Gore (nice suprise) as my RB's. All those guys have some questions surrounding them, but so did all the other RB's available in the second round. I would not have been able to get even one, much less two top 5 WR's at the 3,4 turn. We'll see how it plays out!

Wow, there could be some money made in these leagues.
he followed it up with a defense in the 6th and Koren Robinson in the 8th
Dead Money
This was in my league. Guy grabs Akers in the 5th, Carolina D in the 6th, then posts in the chat that he got what he needs and is leaving. The computer drafted the rest of his team.Hard to believe you would put up money to do that, even if it was only $50.

It's not even about the money really. He hurt the integrity and competition of the leagues when he f-up like that. Basically the other 11 teams had a few more players to choose from. I guess with 72 teams, its kinda tough to avoid 1 or 2 squads from being idiots.

Agree 100% with you on that. But like you said, with 72 teams I'm not sure it can be avoided. I'm sure some people will quit if they are out of it, etc. I have to say though, this is my second year in the Omega leagues and overall the competition has been at a very high level.

Thx, Unlucky! This is always interesting and hopefully useful to others drafting soon.

I was pleased to see I have six of the Lows and only four of the Highs. I drafted at the turn, and often felt I was reaching knowing I had to wait 22 picks. i.e. I know M Barber was early at 7.1,but expected he'd be gone later.

LTsharks, can you believe our league wasn't the High on Vinatieri?

(For others, we had a couple of hiccups and the computer kept giving people Vinatieri -- the third person finally decided to keep him)

That is a surprise, I thought the high Vinateiri would come from our league.Seems like most of my first 4 picks were right in the middle of the range taken in the rest of the drafts. I'm happy with the balance of Jordon/Smith/Droughns/Driver, espcially with the ppr scoring. My next 4 were at the low or 1 or 2 off. Getting T. Bell at 59 (low 61), Shockey at the low of 62, Bulger at 83 (low 84), and Muhammad at the low of 86 makes me feel better about the value with those picks. These draft results are very useful for anyone in start 3 wr, ppr leagues. Throw out the few crazy outliers and it should give you a good idea of what to expect.
