Online Championship of Fantasy Baseball (1 Viewer)

The National Fantasy Baseball Championship (NFBC) sold out this week, filling all 390 of it’s openings in the competition. However the new NFBC Online Championship still has openings and with the number of teams now at slightly over 400, the Grand Prize has grown from the stated $20,000 to somewhere north of $30,000 depending on the final number of entries.

With the ability to join this competition and draft from home (or anywhere you have computer access), and choose the day and often the time you can draft, any fantasy baseball player can enter.

And with lower entry fees ($350) and a near 100-1 payout should you happen to win, the contest has a lot of appeal.

The drafts will be held at Mock Draft Central between March 28 and April 4 2009. (The early dates, March 28, 29 and 30 will be closed out by Monday, but spots in the later drafts are still available as of today.) Teams will pay a $350 entry fee and be put in leagues of 12 to compete for league prizes of $1,300 for 1st Place and $650 for 2nd Place and a Grand Prize of over $30,000. The leagues will be standard 5X5 mixed leagues which will have weekly lineup setting and a FAAB process each week to acquire new players. Teams will draft thirty rounds to acquire their 23 man roster and seven reserves prior to Opening Day. If you haven’t played in something like this, you are always looking first at the standings for your league, but there is a separate ranking of all the categories for ALL the teams in the event. So while you can only get twelve points in your league for the most HR, you would get 360 if that was the total number of teams in the event and you were the leader in that category.
