It had to happen eventually; probably should have happened 3-4 years ago.
Still amazing to me that he had some fanboys in this thread. The guy was beyond terrible.
I'm not sure simply stating he was better than Packer reaches the level of "fanboy"...simply stating a reality. I think I even acknowledged it wasn't setting the bar incredibly high....if I didn't I am doing so now.
This is kind of where I was on Kellog. I grew up watching Packer on sydicated ACC games (with Jim Thacker) and he was really good. He was even still pretty good for his first decade or so nationally. But he got more and more bitter as time went on. Georgetown in the 80s and, especially, the Fab Five made his brain melt down and his thinly-veiled racism became less veiled every year. The rules changed too, and he couldn't process how that would change the way teams played. He became a complete trainwreck.
As for Kellog, he's better suited to the studio in 2 minute blasts. I think he has some insights but not enough to cover an entire game.
I've always liked Anthony, so I hope he does well.
