Paging Bloom: Veikune Overall Rookie IDP Rating? (1 Viewer)

Hey Bloom -

As a guy who drafted CLE LB David Veikune in my lone IDP league back in June, I was surprised (but pleased ) today to see that your latest rookie rankings (Aug. 16) have him listed in the top 12 in the overall rookie IDP (I won't give the exact ranking, as I don't know if that's subscriber-only info...).

As pleased as I was to see such a high ranking for one of my rookie roster stashes, I haven't seen anything remarkable in the press to warrant such a big jump - I'd love to hear your reasoning/insights behind that ranking?

He's been getting a lot of snaps at ILB, and I think he'll eventually start there next to D'Qwell Jackson. Sounds like the Browns love him.

That would be nice. Rotoworld still lists him as an OLB.

They use Rotoworlds depth charts so look there.Yesterday he played OLB not good stats wise unless you get a lot of points for sacks. He was yelled at by Mangini fpr being out of position in coverage. I hope he does play next to Jackson on the inside.

I'd be real surprised if it's not DQ-Barton in the middle to start the season and for the foreseeable future. Where the team needs the most help is on the outside, if Veikune's going to stick this season you have to think it'll be on the outside. The current starters are David Bowens and Kam Wimbley, one is a run stopping specialist and the other is a one move do nothing pass rusher. Moving Kam around to different positions and putting in Veikune or another guy like Alex Hall on the outside would ideally seem like the best plan, I've seen a little of it in the first two games but not enough imho.
