Parity in your fantasy leagues? (1 Viewer)

There's been amazing parity this year. I think this is in part due to some big surprises and some first round busts, but it's a trend I noticed in a number of leagues.

In my primary league, we have 12 teams. 2 are awful at 2-8 and 0-10. (Yes, we have a team that is 0-10 - and on paper, it's not a bad team - looks better than many of the mid-range teams). There are 3 of us sitting atop at 7-3, there are four at 6-4, and there are 4 at 5-5. In other words, with 3 straight wins, a team can go from 10th place to 1st.

A number of other my other leagues are heavily distributed "in the middle" - most having the best team at 7-3 or 6-4.

The upside to this is that nearly everyone is still competitive. Even those out in my primary league have a shot any given week of knocking someone else out of contention.

So.... are you seeing a similar trend? And what do you think is causing it?

Our 12-teamer Keep 7 league looks like this heading into today...

Yes, that's 8 teams with losing records with no one bottom feeder right now. Right now, two division leaders have sub-.500 records.

And three of the teams with winning records are in the same division.

My league has an 9-1 team. And, of course, I am in second place in the league and division at 7-3. :wall:

The Tomlinson owner and the LJ owner are both 4-6.

all these teams battling for 6 playoff spots -- 4 based on best record, and 2 more based on the next highest points.

 I agree with you CorpCow,

I too am in a 10 man league where the diff b/w first and second place is plus or minus 2 games. It's very odd, year I agree, My only observations include a alot of teams are using much more RBBC.. A good example was SD in the first few Games, M. Turner took alot of the snaps from LT during the first few games , but LT has now returned to his monster status. Jax has two RBBC, Colts the same with DRhodes and Addai, but Addai is taking the lead role now.

I am sure there are alot more , but it just appears alot of teams were not on track at the beginning of the season as compared to last year i.e C Palmer at Cinci.

Not seeing it at all...

League 1: Both divisions leaders 4 games up with 4 to play.

League 2: We have a 10-0 team that could take two weeks off and still be in the points lead. Goes by the name of HK around here.

Basically anyone combining McNabb with good early picks is waltzing to a regular season title.

Usually both these leagues are tight.

My 10 team league looks like this...

8-2

7-3

6-4

6-4

6-4

5-5

4-6

4-6

3-7

1-9

Pretty much any team (with maybe the 1-9 team the exception) being able to beat any other team in any given week. We have 6 playoff spots and it's always a battle down the stretch for spots 3-6 really, sometimes even the 1 and 2 spot. I'm currently sitting 6-4 and don't know if I can even separate myself from the pack at this point.

We use IDP and I think the cause for the parity is just smarter owners in general. I think it's harder for a team to stack their squad with WW steals and such when other owners are grabbing them a week earlier, etc.

14-team league:

1 @ 7-3

4 @ 6-4 (!)

6 @ 5-5 (!!)

1 @ 4-6

1 @ 3-7

1 @ 2-8

so that's 11 out of 14 teams within 2 games of first place...definitely not the norm, especially in this league.

:D I guess the real secret in my league this year is everyone is getting smarter and esp those who use Black EYE Joe to get useful insight
