First half vs 2nd half scoring... Pats have been getting out in front and then have been playing bend don't break defense in the 2nd half of games. Not saying its the only reason but it could be a factor.? Care to elucidate?14-31
Just dragging the game out imo, get a lead and slow down the game (still gonna run it up, because why not). I think Belichick is finally confident enough in his offense to play like this.First half vs 2nd half scoring... Thanks for the link. Great read and solid analysis. Loved the breakdown of McCourty's troubles in the first 2 weeks, and losing at the LOS vs. VJax and Marshall is not a big surprise. Those are two of the biggest, most physical receivers in the game. Here is a great read by the Globe's Greg Bedard on what the Pats are doing defensively- he specifically goes into some of the troubles the Pass D has experienced over the past 2 games.
I hope so. Soneone just dropped them. I was all set to start 9er D as a stopgap for Saints D this week.Far as know Pats D should never touch waivers correct? They are not good (yet), but imho they are not nearly as bad as their numbers suggest. New schemes, new players, lots of youth = incohesive. They will/should get better as the season rolls on.
If your league awards pts for turnovers or defensive touchdowns correct, similar situation to the saints D, I like the pats sack potential a bit more tho.I hope so. Soneone just dropped them. Well now I have both Saints and Pats D. I've gone to several sites to see their rankings and Pats D is all over the board this week.Fitzpatrick and Fred Jackson have been hot up to this point, games in Buffalo too. I don't know what to make of this, seeing limited Pats and Bills games so far this year.Is Pats D a solid choice this week?If your league awards pts for turnovers or defensive touchdowns correct, similar situation to the saints D, I like the pats sack potential a bit more tho.I hope so. lol..wut? Are you talking about the same team here? Its only gonna get better, fantasy wise its gonna look bad.
Pass rush is unstoppable. The injuries in the secondary are nagging, even with the problems they are having I still expect them to finish in the top 5 for turnovers.
On paper, Pats highscoring offense is gonna force teams to throw early and often, their pass rush is going to force bad throws and their above average secondary is gonna make plays.
Yes we are, the point im making is they are better than the yards/points allowed suggest - a lot of people still recovering from injury but still performing well, on the other side of the ball the pats are unstoppable this is causing teams to go into catch-up mode throwing deep and often, Pats have a decent secondary but they arent world beaters. On paper the Pats have one of the best DLines out there and you have seen flashes of it already this season, it can only get better.6 Sacks (2+Ravens - T~Bears - 2+Lions - 1-Packers - T~Jets - T~Steelers)lol..wut? I think they're a real reach this week in most leagues. Not only have they looked horrible (especially against the pass) but they will be without Haynesworth and Chung. I think the Bills are looking great this week offensively. Is Pats D a solid choice this week?
Thanks Packersfan. Yeah after I saw Haynesworth was out I dumped them for 9ers again...Bengals are out there too but I have no idea who to go with this week as my Saints D has a tough matchup with Houston this week.I think they're a real reach this week in most leagues. Niners D is very startable this week, its a good play imo, better than Bengals for sure (Saints also), Starting Lions vs Min over Pats vs Bills myself. Thanks Packersfan. It's not bad or anything, it's just that for being in a lot of situations where they can pin their ears back and fly at the QB they don't have as many sacks as I expected. It's early though and it's a unit I expect to get better as the season goes on.'Run It Up said:Yes we are, the point im making is they are better than the yards/points allowed suggest - a lot of people still recovering from injury but still performing well, on the other side of the ball the pats are unstoppable this is causing teams to go into catch-up mode throwing deep and often, Pats have a decent secondary but they arent world beaters. 3 Ints (1-Ravens - 2+Bears - 1-Lions - T~Packers - 2-Jets - 3+Steelers)
2 Forced Fumbles recovered (2-Ravens - T~Bears - 2-Lions - T~Packers - 1+Jets - 2+Steelers)
Article that more accurately depicts my view: Padded stats do Pats D little justice
Update? Not even out of the first quarter, Pats march down the field uncontested then on the bills possession blow up the pocket after a huge pass from Fitzpatrick forcing a terrible throw that was easily picked off.
Pass rush forced two more picks one of which got overturned by a questionable pass interference call, no sacks this week Pass D started to struggle after Bradys 3rd pick.Update? Not even out of the first quarter, Pats march down the field uncontested then on the bills possession blow up the pocket after a huge pass from Fitzpatrick forcing a terrible throw that was easily picked off.
