Pats Had a New Deal with Logan Mankins (1 Viewer)

Colts need to swoop in and sign him, they're in desperate need of an O line.
They can't sign him. They would have to trade for him, and that isn't going to happen.
Hi David,

Why do you think that? Do you think they're not willing to trade him at all? Or just not to the Colts?

J
The Pats wouldn't trade him to the Jets, COlts, Dolphins, etc. They would be willing to trade him, but not to a direct competitor.
Assuming they could pull off a sign and trade. At this point, how likely is that? Not really IMO.
All they need to do is get Mankins' agent to work out a new deal with a new team and agree on what the Pats would get in return (players, picks, etc.). At that point, Mankins would just need to sign his RFA tender which could be torn up the second he was traded. Not that difficult IMO.The challenge, of course, will be that the new team will have to part with something and want to pay Mankins. That may drive his trade value down.

That's precisely what I mean. Who could possibly value him that much (aside from his agent)?

As a Pats fan, I'm glad they held out for the public apology. Off-field contrition is way more important to me than on-field performance.

The Chargers have been actively shopping Jackson more than the Pats have been with Mankins. And Mankins isn't suspended.
